إِنَّ امرَءاً تَعتادُهُ ذِكرٌ

مِنها ثَلاثُ مِنىً لَذُو صَبرِ

The man accustomed to mention it

Has three wishes from it, he who is patient

وَمَواقِفٌ بِالمشعَرَينِ لَها

وَمَناظِرُ الجَمَراتِ وَالنَحرِ

And stopping places at Mash'ar, which has

Views of the pebbles and the slaughter

وَإِفاضَةُ الرُكبانِ خَلفَهُمُ

مِثلَ الغَمامِ أَرَذَّ بِالقَطرِ

And the riders pouring forth behind them

Like clouds teeming with rain

حَتّى اِستَلَمنَ الرُكنَ في أُنُفٍ

مِن لَيلِهِنَّ يَطَأنَ في الأُزرِ

Until they reached the Corner with faces

In their nights, treading the Pleiades

يَقعُدنَ في التَطوافِ آوِنَةً

وَيطُفنَ أَحياناً عَلى فَترِ

They sit circling for a while

And circle again at intervals

فَفَرَغنَ مِن سَبعٍ وَقَد جُهِدَت

أَحشاؤُهُنَّ مَوائِلَ الخُمرِ

Then they finished seven, though their breasts

Were exhausted, the haunts of wine
