When a man is deprived of modesty,

He deserves every kind of ugliness.

He has defects in everything, his secrets

Are licit, his impudence impudence and arrogance.

He sees insults as praise, and baseness as nobility,

And turns his ear away from good advice.

The face of modesty is covered with a delicate skin,

Everything that disgraces is hateful to it.

Reform yourself, O youth, as long as you live,

For you will attain the best states of one who repents.
