يا بَدرُ قَد صَدّقَت آمالي الَّتي

نَصر اللُقا بِها عَلى التَفريق

O full moon, my hopes have indeed proved true—

Through them, reunion triumphed over separation.

لا زالَت الاِيّام تَهديكَ الوَفا

رَغمَ الوُشاةِ وَبغية الصَديق

May the days never cease to bring you fidelity,

To spite the slanderers and fulfill the friend’s desire.
