إِنَّ أَبا العَيناءِ في كُلِّ ما

إِنَّ أَبا العَيناءِ في كُلِّ ما

يَأتي بِهِ مِن أَبرَدِ الناسِ

يَأتي بِهِ مِن أَبرَدِ الناسِ

Indeed, Abū al-ʿAynāʾ, in everything that

he comes out with, is among the dullest of men.

جَميعُ ما يُحسنُ مِن عِلمِهِ

جَميعُ ما يُحسنُ مِن عِلمِهِ

كَتَبتُهُ في شِبرِ قُرطاسِ

كَتَبتُهُ في شِبرِ قُرطاسِ

All the learning he has mastered

I have written on a handspan of paper.
