قَل لِلخَليفَةِ يا اِبنَ عَمِّ مُحَمَّدٍ
أَشكِل وَزيرَكَ إِنَّهُ مَحلولُ
Tell the caliph, O son of Muhammad's uncle
Your vizier is tricky, he is easily undone
فَلِسانُهُ لِلشَتمِ في أَعراضِنا
وَالرِجلُ مِنهُ في الصُدورِ تَجولُ
His tongue insults us, trampling on our honor
His sly designs creep into hearts, make mischief there
كَم طالِبٍ لِظُلامَةٍ أَو حاجَةٍ
مُتَعَرِّضٌ لِكَلامِهِ مَركولُ
Many who seek from him some favor or appointment
Must bow to his abuse, swallow his bile, unfair
