1. الأخطبوط أراه بدل شكله

    كمحيطه ولقد يظنّ صخورا

    The octopus I see instead of its shape

    Like its ocean, though it may seem rocks

  2. ولسوف يمتصّ الدماء مضحيا

    بغريمه ويفوته معصورا

    And it will absorb the blood sacrificing

    Its enemy and missing it pressed

  3. يا للزعامة حين تحسب أنها

    تلهو به وتظنه مقهورا

    O leadership when you think you

    Play with it and think it suppressed

  4. وهو الذي تخذت وصولياته

    حيلا لتقتل من ينام غرورا

    It is the one whose tentacles took

    Ruses to kill those who sleep arrogantly

  5. حين الذين ينافحون لصونها

    والماهدين لها أذيقوا الزورا

    When those who contend to protect it

    And the ones who sacrificed for it were given lies

  6. أو أهملوا مثل النفاية ما لهم

    أمل يداعب لو غدا منشورا

    Or neglected like garbage, what hope do they have

    If a hope caresses them to be published

  7. يا أيها الزعماء ليس بنافع

    إخلاصكم إن لم يكن مبرورا

    O leaders it is no use

    Your sincerity if it is not blessed

  8. هل تنكرون الظلم ثم بعهدكم

    يبقى الذي عانى لكم منكورا

    Do you deny injustice then in your covenants

    The one who suffered for you remains denied

  9. ويسود فيه الألعبان وكل من

    نشر الظلام ومن أمات النورا

    And the clowns rule it and all who

    Spread darkness and killed light

  10. إن ترتضوا هذا فحسبي أنني

    ابقى بمنفاي السحيق شكورا

    If you accept this, then it is enough for me

    To remain in my distant gratitude

  11. هيهات أرضى أن أساوم مرة

    في الحق أو أرضى به مدحورا

    Never will I agree to bargain once

    Regarding truth or accept it subdued

  12. إن الإساءة من زعيم صالح

    قتل المواهب جاحدا مغرورا

    Indeed harm from a good leader

    Kills talents, unjustly arrogant

  13. مجد البلاد على المدى أحرارها

    الماهدون الرائدون عصورا

    The glory of the countries is in its free people

    The ones who led epochs before

  14. الملهمون بفكرهم تحريرها

    والخالقون لها منى وشعورا

    The inspired by their thought to liberate it

    And the ones who created for it purpose and feeling

  15. فإذا أهينوا أو أذلّ تراثهم

    لم يحي مجد بعدهم مذكورا

    So if they are insulted or their heritage is humiliated

    No celebrated glory will live after them

  16. بل لطخت صحف الفخار برحمة

    تبقى ويحسبها الزمان فجورا

    But the tablets of pride will be stained with mercy

    History will see it as debauchery
