يتمشى فيه المثال النبيل

The determined youth, beautiful poetry

In which the noble ideal walks

من نشيد الإله رف بأحلام

تناهت فكل معنى اصيل

From the hymn of God flew with dreams

Every meaning reached is authentic

لا تلوموه إن طاش فلكم

طاشت نجوم وليس منها ذليل

Do not blame him if he got carried away for you too

Got carried away, stars, none among them is disgraced

قوة للحياة نور ونار ألهما

الكون فهو حر جليل

Power for life, light and fire that inspired

The universe, so he is free, glorious

لا تخف يا شباب إنك بالحزم

كفيل إذا أبى المستحيل

Do not fear O youth, with determination

You are capable, if the impossible refused

لا تخف ليس غير روحك ما يب

قى وما قد عداه ظل يحول

Do not fear, nothing but your soul remains

And what it missed is a fleeting shadow

فنيت حين ودّعتك الأماني

وهوت حين باعدتك الطلول

I perished when hopes bid you farewell

And fell when maturity took you away

لست لولاك من رأى العيش عيشا

أنت روحي وليس عمري الطويل

Without you I would not have seen life as life

You are my soul, not my long life
