O son of humble origins when you deemed yourself noble

And son of struggle over the ages victorious

In the darkness of the lowly hut you drank in

A spirit of light and nobility repeatedly

So you grew like a caring shepherd over mankind

Drawing inspiration from pain and distress

You toiled as a child in the fields and after

At night you toiled studying patiently

So your genius in childhood shone

Like the dawn, a light more brilliant than fire

And your youth in eloquence astounded

The elders and ruled over the powerful

And you were sent as delegate of a nation

That discerned genius in you that cannot be obscured

You defended the dignity of those who were

Subdued into slavery and embraced harm and shame

You called out tyranny will not remain a government

Proudly and you increased its majesty and lifespan

Alas! None but truth creates strength

Alas! However much it dazzles the sights

Let us free the prisoners for they are our brothers

In bondage who found life gloomy

And you reached the highest position, you increased it

Proudly and multiplied its majesty and ages

Were it not for the bigotry in the South provoked

By its foolish leaders, a violent storm

And they refused save for the abhorred war alone

A response and changed not their recklessness, partisans

So you made freeing the slaves a policy

And took uniting the country as a beacon

Until when your armies were victorious, you returned

Only as your forgiving country's leader

And you began to rebuild its fortune anew

Like rain emerging in the land illumination

And the hand of hope from the ashes as if

    It revived creations and dwellings

But then destiny prepared for you a death

Oh what a pity and victory became disgraced

No, no, you were not killed an inglorious death

But for immortality repeated and openly

You purified with blood, O our redeemer

An ideal through the ages will contend

Whenever an oppressed being sacrificed nobly

You were to him a burning flame and ember

And he saw you in his dreams and certainty

Forever so he struggled against the tyrant
