1. لك أن يوفِّيك الرواة ترنُّما

    ويجمِّل الشعراء هذا الموسما

    The narrators may satisfy you with their melodious chanting,

    And the poets beautify this season,

  2. يومَ الجلوس وأنت بدء خلافةٍ

    صَلُحتْ بها الدنيا بقيتَ مُكرَّما

    The day you assume the caliphate,

    With which the world became righteous and you remained honored,

  3. يتذكر الإسلام فجرك مادحاً

    فيجدد التذكار تلك الأنعما

    Islam recalls your dawn with praise,

    Thus it renews the remembrance of those blessings,

  4. إن الذي خلق الخلافة صان في

    تركيِّها عربيَّها والأعجما

    Indeed, He who created the caliphate protected in

    Its Arabism, non-Arabism and foreignness,

  5. أخليفة المختار وابن خلائف

    وكلوا لك الملك المؤيد والحمى

    O caliph of the Chosen One and son of caliphs,

    And all of them wished for you the protected kingdom and sanctuary,

  6. ألقى السلاحَ اليوم جيشُك راحماً

    مغلوبه وأقام يحصي المغنما

    Today your army has laid down its weapons mercifully,

    Defeated, and began counting the spoils,

  7. حقٌّ له في مهرجانك بعد ما

    أمن العوادي أن يبيت منَعَّما

    It has the right on your festival after

    The bedouins’ encampments are safe to spend the night protected,

  8. تجلو الوجود له البشائر بعد ما

    ملأ الوجود تقطُّباً وتَجَهُّما

    Existence smiles at it with good tidings after

    Existence was filled with frowning and scowling,

  9. لبيك يا ملك الملوك لدعوة

    شفت السميع وراقت المتوسما

    That the All-Hearing heard and the optimistic desired,

    Who is it that did not give to the Chosen One when

  10. من ذا الذي لم يعط مختاراً وقد

    ضمن النبيُّ له الثواب الأعظما

    The Prophet assured him the greatest reward,

    Oh how my longing burns for the day I see

  11. وا حرَّ أشواقي إلى يوم أرى

    فيه المقام مصلياً ومسلِّما

    Him praying there and submitting,

    His mornings between Al-Baqi‘ and Yathrib,

  12. بين البقيع وبين يثرب صبحُهُ

    ومساؤُهُ بين الحطيم وزمزما

    And his evenings between Al-Hatim and Zamzam,

    The clamor of the pilgrims in gratitude rises

  13. يعلوا ضجيج للحجيج بشكر ما

    تولى فتسعدهم ملائكة السما

    For what he assumed, so the angels of heaven make them prosperous,

    O excellent are the deputations of Damascus coming forward,

  14. يا حبذا وفد الشآم مقدماً

    وفد الحضارة للحجاز مقوّما

    The deputations of civilization to the Hejaz made upright,

    If I have not witnessed his glories, then

  15. إن كنت لم أشهد مجاليه فقد

    أضحى فؤادي حولهن محوِّما

    My heart has become enchanted with them,

    Captivated by its rustling, comforted

  16. متطرباً بحفيفه مستروحاً

    في شوقه ذاك الثرى المتنسما

    By yearning for that fragrant soil,

    My life would not have granted me with more guidance and insight

  17. ما كان أهداني وأنضر عيشتي

    لو كنت في ذاك المجاز مخيِّما

    Had I camped in that territory,

    Until when the steamer unfurls its banner

  18. حتى إذا نشر البخار لواءه

    في الأفق وائتمن الحمامُ القَشعما

    On the horizon, and the dove trusts the highland,

    And vegetation clothes the desert - it is a crooning and singing loved one,

  19. وكسا النباتُ القفرَ فهو خميلةٌ

    غناء واصطحب الغزال الضيغما

    And the gazelle accompanies the ostrich,

    I declared clearly like I am a poet,

  20. جاهرت بالنجوى كما أنا شاعر

    ولبست ثوب الفاتحين المُعْلَما

    And wore the attire of the eminent conquerors,

    The path of all people leads to your guidance,

  21. كل العباد إلى هداك مسيرهم

    وإلى حماك المنتهى والمنتمى

    And to your sanctuary the final destination and place of refuge,

    Two paths: one takes an evident, easy path,

  22. قِسمانِ يسلك ذا سبيلاً واضحاً

    سهلاً ويسلك ذا سبيلاً مبهما

    And another takes an obscure, confusing path,

    One banner will unite their multitude,

  23. سيضم جمعَهم لواءٌ واحدٌ

    وتقوم وحدك فيهمُ متحكِّما

    While you alone stand over them as arbitrator,

    And when you possess their hearts and necks,

  24. وإذا ملكت قلوبهم ورقابهم

    لا يعدم الملك المطيع المرغما

    The obedient subject will not lack a ruler,

    He who disciplined the disobedient - their stay

  25. ما أدَّبَ العاصين طال مقامهم

    في السجن كالعفو الكريم وعلّما

    In prison was like a generous pardon that taught a lesson,

    A portion of violence from the vanquisher of the land

  26. حزمٌ من الغلّاب قهار الورى

    أن يولي الرفق الضعيف المجرما

    To appoint gentleness to the weak criminal,

    O House of Osman – upon you peace

  27. يا آل عثمان السلام عليكمُ

    ما دمت حياً منجداً أو متهما

    As long as I live, supporter or accused,

    Your love remains a spirit in my heart

  28. ما زال روحاً في فؤادي حبكم

    حتى تمثل للعيون مجسما

    Until it materializes before my eyes,

    Is there any reason for me to go to the Balkans even

  29. هل لي إلى البلقان من سبب وإن

    كانت مسالكه الظبَى والأسهما

    If its paths are for predators and arrows?

    To witness the victorious army striking

  30. لأشاهد الجيش المظفر ضارباً

    يتعقب الجيش الشريد المحجما

    Chasing the defeated, withdrawn army,

    And the crescent’s auspicious sightings

  31. ومن الهلال مطالع ميمونة

    تجلو عن الميدان نقعاً مظلما

    Uncover the arena from a dark patch,
