1. يا ناصر الآداب عدْ

    عود الربيع إلى حماك

    O supporter of literature, return

    The spring breeze to your protection

  2. وارحم قلوب المخلصي

    ن المغرمين بملتقاك

    And have mercy on the hearts of the loyal

    Who are enamored with meeting you

  3. واحلل محلك فيهمُ

    فلقد أضر بهم نواك

    And take your place among them

    For your absence has harmed them

  4. وأقم لأهل الفضل مو

    سمهم كما اعتادت علاك

    And establish for the people of merit their

    Portion as your habit with them

  5. وتلقَّ غالية المدا

    ئح معلناً لهم رضاك

    And accept the expensive eulogies

    Announcing to them your approval

  6. لولا قواعد لا تري

    د لها انحلالاً وانتهاك

    If not for unshakable principles

    That you do not want unravelled or violated

  7. وحكومة شكرت لك ال

    نعم التي صنعت يداك

    And a government that thanked you

    For the favours your hands have made

  8. وديون أقوام علي

    ها لا ترى منها انفكاك

    And debts of people upon it

    That you do not see relief from

  9. لَجعلتَ للشعراء في

    مالية القطر اشتراك

    You would have given the poets a share

    In the finances of the country

  10. وتقاسموا منها نصي

    بَهُمُ كما اقتسموا نداك

    And they would have shared among themselves their portion

    As they shared your support

  11. أنت الأمير لمن تلب

    بيه وتنجد إذ دعاك

    You are the prince of whoever calls you

    And seeks help when they call you

  12. تُعطي فتمتلك النفو

    س بأسرها أي امتلاك

    You give so you possess all souls

    What a possession

  13. وخلا نظيرك في البلا

    د فلا أرى سمحاً سواك

    None compares to you in the country

    I do not see anyone as generous as you

  14. ولقد طلعت على فؤا

    دي قبلما عيني تراك

    And your virtues appeared to me

    Before my eyes saw you

  15. ووجدت حلَّتَك المها

    بة والمروءة من حلاك

    And I found your respected and noble disposition

    From your condition

  16. يهتز للمدح اهتزا

    ز المشرفية معطفاك

    Your cloak trembles from praise

    Like the most honorable trembles

  17. وتفيض للراجي الندى

    بشراً فتشرق وجنتاك

    And overflows for the hopeful with good news

    So your cheeks shine

  18. ويشف عما في فؤا

    دك من حنان ناظراك

    And the beholder heals from the affection

    In your virtues

  19. ضمن المنى لك والرضى

    ومظاهر الدنيا هداك

    I wish for you acceptance and satisfaction

    And manifestations of this life guide you

  20. وأنالك المجد الكبي

    ر على رفاقك أصغراك

    And great glory comes to you

    Above your peers younger than you

  21. وكفاك أن تدعى نصي

    ر العلم مكرمة كفاك

    It is enough for you to be called

    The supporter of knowledge an honour sufficient for you

  22. شرف تباهى المخلصو

    ن به كما اعترفت عداك

    The loyal boast with the nobility

    That you have acknowledged

  23. لم أنس قولك لي وقا

    سي الداء ينذر بالهلاك

    I do not forget your words to me

    And the healer of the disease that warns of ruin

  24. ساء الفضائل ما دهاك

    فمتى أرى الآسي شفاك

    The nobility of virtues - what enriches you

    So when will I see the remedy your recovery

  25. أنهضتني كالليث بع

    دَ العجز عن بعض الحراك

    You inspired me like a lion after

    Incapacity for some movement

  26. ومددت لي سبباً جعل

    ت به محلَّتِيَ السماك

    And you extended for me a means by which

    You made my position eminent

  27. فكأنني في عزمك ال

    ماضي سموت وفي قواك

    So it is as if by your firm resolve

    I ascended and by your strength

  28. لي من كلامك جوهرٌ

    غالٍ كما لي من غناك

    From your words I have precious jewels

    As I have from your singing

  29. بُدَرٌ وددت لهن لو

    قبلت كفك ثم فاك

    A full moon I wish if

    Your palm would meet then embrace

  30. إن انتفاعي من ثرا

    ئك مثل نفعي من حجاك

    That my benefit from your wealth

    Is like my benefit from your pilgrimage
