سلام صاحب الوادي ومجدُ

لعيدك وهو ميثاق وعهدُ

Greetings owner of the valley and glory

For your feast which is a covenant and pact

وتكرمة ليوم آل فيه

إليك الحكم وهو هدى ورشد

And a generosity for a day in which

Governance came to you, being guidance and righteousness

وميعاد لأفضل ما تراه

من القدر البلاد وما تعد

And an appointment for the best that you see

Of the fate of the countries and what it counts

وتذكار به في كل عام

يزيد لك الوداد ويستجد

And a memory in every year

That increases for you affection and renews

وما الزينات ملء الملك إلا

سرائر شعبك المسرور تبدو

And the decorations filling the kingdom except

The joys of your happy people appear

وما هذي المواكب فيه إلا

لما أحسنتَ إطراء وحمد

And these processions in it except

For what you have done, praise and eulogy

تلقَّى الوافدين الثغرُ رحباً

وهم فيه كما في الحج حشد

The newcomers are welcomed by the smile broadly

And they in it are as in the Hajj, crowded

وشرف ركبُك الميدانَ فضلاً

وملء طريقه آس وورد

And your caravan honors the field out of merit

And fills its way with myrtle and roses

وسرك من رجالك ما أقاموا

لهذا المهرجان وما أعدوا

And your secret from your men what they stood

For this carnival and what they prepared

وفاء للأريكة وهي يمنٌ

وصوناً للكنانة وهي خلد

Loyalty for the throne and it is blessing

And protection for the amulet and it is eternity

وتنزيهاً لذاتك وهي قدسٌ

وإيثاراً لعصرك وهي رغد

And glorification for your self and it is sanctity

And preference for your time and it is comfort

ملكت فكنت واقي مصر شراً

يهدُّ من الممالك ما يهد

You ruled so you were protector of Egypt from harm

That demolishes what demolishes from the kingdoms

وغانم هدنة فيها حساب

من الحرب التي وقعت أشد

And winner of truce in it there is a count

From the war that occurred most intense

وشاء من الحياة له نصيباً

بأمرك شعبك الحر المُجِدُّ

And willed from life for it a share

By your order your free glorious people

ومهّد قبلُ بالبأس اضطراراً

لما هو نائلٌ بالسلم بعد

And paved before with might coercively

For what he gets with peace after

وأدرك غاية بك لم يصلها

لغيرك قبلُ أُسطول وجند

And attained an end with you that no one else attained

Before you, navy and army

جمعت الشرق فيه فاطمأنت

إليك الهند واسترعتك نجد

You gathered the East in it so India was reassured

To you and Najd was awed by you

وعادت مصر وهي لكل علم

وكل حضارة في الأرض مهد

And Egypt returned and it for any science

And any civilization on earth is a cradle

أتشكو مصر ضائقة وفيها

نوالك وهو للنيلين ند

Do I complain of Egypt's distress and in it

Is your bestowal and it equals both Niles

وهل تخشى الغريم وكل يوم

يجيئك منه تسليم وود

And should I fear the enemy and every day

Submission and affection comes to you from him

وميثاق تحمّله سفير

يروح بكل ما ترضى ويغدو

And a pact he carries an envoy

Who comes and goes with all you accept

تخيرت الذين همُ ضمانٌ

لقصدك وهو للأقدار قصد

You chose those who are guarantee

For your purpose which is fate's purpose

ووليت الوزارة كل موفٍ

بما يلقاه منك ويستمد

And you delegated for Prime Ministry every loyal

For what he finds from you and draws from

ولولا أنها حق عليهم

لكان لهم غنى عنها وزهد

And were it not an obligation on them

They would have no need of it and detachment

وقد صحت بصحتك الليالي

وخف عن البلاد وعنك جهد

And by your wellness the nights became honest

And effort was relieved from the countries and you

وقمت بنية صدقت وعزمٍ

تمكن ما بناه أب وجد

And you stood with sincere intention and resolve

That enables what a father and grandfather built

وتحمي حرمة الدستور ممن

يثور على كرامته ويعدو

And protects the sanctity of the constitution from he who

Revolts against its dignity and transgresses

وما في الأرض إبرام ونقض

لمتَّهم ولا حل وعقد

And there is no in the earth contracting and violation

For the accused nor loosening and binding

وما فيه يسيء الحكمَ جمعٌ

وما فيه يسيء الحكم فرد

And no group therein harms the rule

And no individual therein harms the rule

وقد يغني عن الشورى صواب

خلا منه المشير المستبد

And correctness without it may suffice the despotic advisor

So what do the angry ones want and those who warned them

فما للغاضبين وقد دعاهم

إليك المنذرون فلم يردوا

Called them to you but they did not respond

And they feared you would change things

وخافوا أن تبدلهم أموراً

بأخرى وهو ما لا منه بد

For others while it is inevitable

And how much they filled the zeal with lightning and thunder

وكم ملأوا الحمى برقاً ورعداً

فما أغناهمُ برق ورعد

Yet lightning and thunder did not avail them

And no claim of theirs in the West was proven

ولم تثبت لهم في الغرب دعوى

ولم يصدق لهم في الشرق وعد

Nor in the East was a promise believed for them

And they inclined to the case so it drew

ومالوا بالقضية فاستمالت

إلى سوق أطالوها ومدوا

To a market they lengthened and extended

Their messenger carried it deceitfully

تحملها رسولُهُمُ نفاقاً

وألقاها عليهم وهي حقد

And cast it upon them and it is hatred

And brought it close yet proximity did not benefit him

وقربها فلم ينفعه قرب

وأبعدها فلم ينفعه بعد

And distanced it yet distance did not benefit him

And his meeting with them was hello

وكان لقاؤه منهم سلاماً

فأصبح وهو إعراض وصد

Then it became estrangement and rejection

Does the one infatuated with freedom claim

أللحرية المفتون يدعى

ويرجى وهو للشهوات عبد

And desire while he is to passions enslaved

If they are silent from shyness or dumbness

فإن سكنوا حياء أو عياء

فإقرار بأن الأمر جد

Then admitting the matter is serious

Perhaps for the feast's pardon they are worthy

لعلهمُ لعفو العيد أهل

فيلتمسوا رضاك ويستردوا

So let them seek your satisfaction and regain [favor]

And you forgive what they erred intentionally and mistakenly

وتغفر ما جنوا خطأ وعمداً

فلا يبقى لهم خطأ وعمد

Then no mistaken or intentional error remains
