  1. أهلاً بودِّك قيصر الألمانِ

    لو أن ودك نافع السلطانِ

    Welcome to your power, German Caesar,

    If your power only benefits the Sultan,

  2. ومباركاً إحسانه بك ظنَّه

    لو تستحق حلاوة الإحسان

    And blessed be his favor upon you if he thinks it worthy,

    If you deserve the sweetness of favor.

  3. ألهيته زمناً بقولك خادعاً

    في ذمتي هذا الحمى وضماني

    I distracted him for a while with your deceitful words

    I pledged to protect his sanctuary,

  4. وعلى أن أحمي بصولة أمتي

    شرف الهلال وأمة القرآن

    And to fiercely guard the honor of the Crescent

    And the nation of the Quran.

  5. ولبثت ترتاد البلاد ملاقياً

    حباً وتكريماً بكل مكان

    You wandered the countries meeting

    Love and honor everywhere.

  6. حتى اطلعت على موارد رزقه

    وعلمت نائي ملكه والداني

    Until you discovered the sources of his livelihood

    And learned the extent of his kingdom and riches.

  7. وسواك يرقب حاسداً متلهفاً

    لحظات عينك شاكيَ الحرمان

    While others watch you jealously, longing

    For a glance from your eye, deprived,

  8. ما فارق الأوطان ركبك راجعاً

    حتى سمعت نوادب الأوطان

    Your convoy left the homelands without returning

    Until you heard the calls of homelands.

  9. يا قيصر الألمان أدركنا فقد

    آلت كريد إلى الفتى اليوناني

    O German Caesar, we have lost

    Our forts to the young Greek.

  10. أنسيت عهداً للإمام وموثقاً

    ما كان هذا الخطب في الحسبان

    You forgot the covenant with the Imam that was secured -

    This was not part of the plan.

  11. واحسرتاه على كنوز أنفقت

    في زورتيك منيعة الأركان

    Woe over the treasures you spent

    On your impenetrable citadels.

  12. تكفي لميرة عسكر وذخيرة

    عامين والأعداء في الميدان

    Enough for the provisions of armies over

    Two years with enemies on the battlefield!

  13. ما سرَّت الأتراك منك رواية

    هزلية الأشكال والألوان

    The Ottomans were not pleased with your

    Absurd tales and colors.

  14. حتى ختمت بدور جد محزن

    هذي الرواية في المساء الثاني

    So you concluded with the houses of ancestors

    هذا نصيبي من بني عثمان

    Return to your high throne and say:

  16. إني أنال برقتي وفصاحتي

    ما لم أنل بالسيف والنيران

  17. لو يبلغ السلطان نصحي لم تطأ

    يوماً لمثلك أرضه قدمان

    If the Sultan heard my advice, your feet

    Would never tread his land.
