    ض قعوداً عن العقاب اتقاءك

    A position that angered the noble, who would not

    Stay sitting without punishing, fearing you

  5. مستعيناً بسكرة عندها استع

    ذب شكواك واستلذ بكاءك

    Seeking help from alcohol, whereat he tortured

    Your complaints and enjoyed your weeping

  6. انتقام أراه أكبرَ عاراً

    من خضوع فقدت فيه حياءك

    A revenge I see as greater shame

    Than submission, in which you lost your modesty

  7. ليت تلك الألقاب لو كنت ترضى

    يا قتيل الألقاب كانت فداءك

    I wish those titles, had you been pleased

    O victim of titles, they would have been your ransom

  8. ناله من أذاك ما كنت تلقى

    من أذاه وساءه ما أساءك

    He got from those ones what you used to get

    From those who hurt you and made you suffer what distressed you

  9. بئس صيت عشقتماه ليحيى

    في المخازي رجاءه ورجاءك

    Evil is the reputation you loved to live

    In brothels, hopeful of him and you

  10. من ترى بعد ذاك أولى بفخر

    يوم عرس نساءه أم نساءك

    Who after that is worthier of pride
