1. يا عيد الاستقلال أن

    تَ لهُ خيال أم حقيقَهْ

    O Independence Day, are you a fantasy or reality?

    For liberation or for slavery, what did they outline in that document?

  2. للعتق أم للرقِّ ما

    خطّوه في تلك الوثيقه

    With celebrations, do the thirsty rejoice, and does the drowning celebrate?

    After they blocked its path, does Egypt attain its goals?

  3. أبمهرجان تحتفي ال

    ظمأى وتحتفل الغريقه

    They pretend to do good for it, yet its nature refuses.

    If they freed the country yesterday, it is still not released from them.

  4. وتنال مصر مرامها

    من بعد ما سدّوا طريقه

    The garden has become, but its fruits are for the stranger.

    And if one of its sons takes control, sister kills sister.

  5. يتكلفون الصالحا

    ت لها وتأباها السليقه

    Can it choose today its fate with imported nations steering?

    Excuses are no cause for high aspirations.

  6. إن أطلقوا أمس البلا

    د فمنهمُ ليست طليقه

    Also, the clouds rain down, and lightning flashes time and again.

    In the horn they blow of warning, which we painted and blew.

  7. وحديقة أضحت ولَ

    كن للغريب جنى الحديقه

    After the pain we tasted, what pain should we fear?

    Do they want our market pillaged, and we don't frequent its stalls?

  8. وإن استبد بنيلها

    قتل الشقيقة بالشقيقه

    O State, we refuse your enmity and accept you as a friend!

    Will you rain injustice and we not try to stop it?

  9. هل تملك اليوم اختيا

    ر مصيرها الأمم المسوقه

    You are neither merciful, nor is defiant Egypt content.

    And my liver burns for the valley's coveted freedom.

  10. ليس التعلل بالمنى

    سبباً إلى العقبى السحيقه

    I find consent in spilling it.

    I make it poetry filling the world, and all creation inclines an ear.

  11. أيضن بالغيث السحا

    ب وطالما والى بروقه

    I find solace and avoid the woes of time and its narrowness.

    I replay the days of tender youth, splendid and elegant.

  12. في بوقه نفخ النذي

    رِ وقد بلوناه وبوقه

    Whoever swims in its current today deserves its nectar tomorrow.

    Whoever takes from the great, takes from the good and wholesome.

  13. أي الأذى بعد الذي

    ذقناه نخشى أن نذوقه

    Are Egypt's leaders hesitant before an abyss profound?

    What punishment is more deserving of one who hurts his companion?

  14. أيريد ما في سوقنا

    نهباً ولا نرتاد سوقه

    The enemy returned to Egypt, scheming after his subtle deception.

    He exercises his might against it for his tender claim.

  15. يا دولة نأبى عدا

    وتها ونرضاها صديقه

    If you separate from him, you will all be one group.

    If you wake from him, you will not wake easily.

  16. هل تنزلين بنا الهوا

    ن ولا نحاول أن نعوقه

    Your proof is what you do today, not ancient relics.

    With its new and old, the venerable nation prepares.

  17. لا أنت راحمة ولا

    مصر الأبية بالمطيقه

  18. واحرَّ أكباد إلى

    حرية الوادي مشوقه

  19. هذا ذكيّ دمي لها

    أجد الرضا في أن أريقه

  20. أجريه شعراً يملأ ال

    دنيا ويستصغي الخليقه

  21. أجد السلُوَّ وأتقي

    نكدَ الزمان به وضيقه

  22. وأعيد أيام الشبا

    ب الغض فاخرة أنيقه

  23. من سار في تياره ال

    يوم استحق غداً رحيقه

  24. من نال من ضخم العظا

    ت ينل من الملح الرشيقه

  25. أتخاذلٌ زعماءَ مص

    ر أمام هاوية عميقه

  26. أي العقاب أحق بال

    رجل الذي يؤذي رفيقه

  27. عاد الغريم لمصر يع

    بس بعد خدعته الدقيقه

  28. يقضي بشدة بأسه

    فيها لدعواه الرقيقه

  29. فإن افترقتم عنده

    كنتم جميعكم فريقه

  30. إن تستفق منه فما

    هي منكمُ بالمستفيقه

  31. برهانكم ما تعملو

    ن اليوم لا التحف العتيقه

  32. بجديدها وقديمها

    تتأهب الأمم العريقه
