لك الولاء الذي لم يخفه أحدُ

ولا خلت أمة منه ولا بلدُ

You have the allegiance that no one has concealed

And no nation or country has been without it

قد قمت بالحكم عدلاً لا يميل بك ال

هوى ولا يتخطى رأيَك الرشد

You have ruled with justice that does not bend with desire

Nor does your sound opinion transgress

وسرتَ بالملك مأمون المذاهب مي

مون المساعي على القرآن تعتمد

You have proceeded with a safeguarded kingdom, relying

On the Quran, warding off tribulations from it

وبت تدفع عنه الحادثات كما

يبيت يقظانَ يحمي غيلَهُ الأسد

As if a vigilant lion guards his cubs

Until you have raised above the stars for it

حتى رفعت له فوق النجوم حمى

الحزم أسبابه والحكمة العمد

The pillars of resolve and wisdom

So it has become unassailable, guarded by the eye of God

فبات ممتنعَ الأركان تحرسه

عين الأله إذا حراسه رقدوا

Even when its guards slumber

And people are of two kinds: a constrained enemy

والناس قسمان عانٍ موثقٌ ضجرٌ

في قبضتيك وراجٍ عيشه رغد

And one hoping for an easy life under your hands

So there are turns for the adversaries in which they roamed

فللمعادين أدوار بهن شقوا

وللموالين أدوار بها سعدوا

And turns for the loyal ones in which they prospered

If you wish, you would give this land its greens

إن شئت أعطيت هذي الأرض نضرتَها

وإن تشأ أصبحتْ بالشر تتقد

And if you want, it would burn with evil

You have not been vengeful except for God

وما غضبت لغير اللّه منتقماً

وما قهرت سوى القوم الألى حقدوا

And have not oppressed except the spiteful people

You have not opened any kingdom for other than religion

وما فتحت لغير الدين مملكة

رأيتها عن سبيل الخير تبتعد

That you saw was straying from the path of good

You have revived it, restoring its strength

أنهضته مسترداً فيه قوته

فقام يمتد في الدنيا ويَطَّرد

So it stands extending in the world and roams

Yours are the armies that have relieved many worries

لك الجيوش التي كم فرجت كرباً

كأنها قسطل في الجو منعقد

As if they are clouds clustered in the sky

God guides their shots, supports them

يسدد اللّه مرماها يؤيدها

من الملائك في غاراتها مدد

With angels in their raids giving them supplies

Relying on the divine covenant on the day of battle

لها على الموثق الدينيِّ متَّكلٌ

يوم الكفاح ومن إيمانها عدد

And drawing numbers from their faith

Yours is the banner whose crescent has attained glory

لك اللواء الذي نال الهلال فلا

تنال رفْعتَه للعاديات يد

So no hostile hands can reach its loftiness

In its flapping there is joy for those in its shade

في خفقه طرب للمستظل به

وللعدى رهب في طيِّه كمد

And awe in its folds for the enemy like an abyss

Yours are the great fleets like towering camels

لك الأساطيل كالأطواد شامخة

تجري فيحدث رعداً حولها الزبد

That sail and thunder around them stirs up foam

Were it not for your security, the sea would have erupted

لولا أمانك ثار البحر مشتعلاً

بنارهنَّ وسال البر والجمد

With their fire and the land and ice melted

Yours are the domes that rise lofty in the sky

لك القباب التي تعلو محلقة

في الجو والجند حراس بها رصد

With soldiers standing guard, watching over them

And in your majesty there is light for the caliphate

وفي محيّاك نور للخلافة قد

أضحى لدى الناس برهاناً لما اعتقدوا

That people now see as proof of what they believed

If the bright stars could dive down in yearning

لو تستطيع النجوم النيرات هوت

شوقاً وصارت مكان التاج تنتضد

And take the place of your crown clustered around it

My lord your feast has come in auspices

مولاي عيدك وافى في ميامنه

يهدي البرية أفراحاً كما عهدوا

Bringing the desert joy like they were accustomed to

The universe seemed most splendid to it

بدا له الكون في أبهى مظاهره

واستجمعت حسنها الأيام والأبد

And days and eternity summoned all their beauty

The earth is dazzlingly luminous and verdant

فالأرض باهرة الأنوار ناضرة

ريا الشباب كساها الوشي والبرد

Clad in youthful finery and cool silk

It struts joyfully for all like a coquettish beloved

تختال ضاحكة للعالمين كما

تختال ذات دلال زانها الغيَد

Adorned with necklaces and anklets

And the crowds crammed under your throne

وللوفود ازدحام تحت عرشك لم

يضق به بابك العالي ومحتشد

Were not constrained by your lofty doors

Hearts were healed of ardent longing by what

تشفي القلوب من الشوق الشديد بما

لاقوا من الطلعة الكبرى وما شهدوا

They experienced of your great advent and witnessed

As if they had drunk a soothing draft and were elated

كأنهم شربوا راحاً بها طربوا

وغير منهلك الخلديِّ ما وردوا

And attained nothing but your eternal spring

O owner of righteous deeds and lord of hands

يا صاحب الباقيات الصالحات ويا

رب الأيادي التي لم يحصها عدد

That number cannot encompass

Greetings and prayer with which we seek

تحية ودعاء نبتغي بهما

شرح المسرة والحب الذي نجد

To inspire joy and love that we profess

You came while diverse sects split the people

أقبلت والقوم في أهوائهم فرق

شتى طرائقُهم من غيهم قِدَد

Their ways lost in their ignorance you guided

So they surrendered to you when you gave them guidance

فاستسلموا لك لما قمت ترشدهم

واستمسكوا بعرى الميثاق واتحدوا

And clung to the bond of the covenant united

You warded off the multitudes of enemies so they escaped

وذدت عنهم جماهير العدى فنجوا

وأنت في حومة الميدان منفرد

While you alone on the battlefield stood your ground

They had sworn oaths but broke them when facing

وصلت فيهم فخانتهم عزائمهم

عند اللقاء وطار الصبر والجلد

The battle and patience and resolve took flight

And they cried out so a horde of delusions came to them

واستصرخوا فأتاهم جحفل لجب

من دولة الوهم فيه اليأس والنكد

In which there was despair and gloom

You defeated their cunning and foiled their betrayal

غلبت مكرهمُ واغتلت غدرهمُ

ودست كيداً لهم في دسه اجتهدوا

And plotted against their plot with diligence

Why do you care for people who have strayed

ماذا عليك من القوم الذين غووا

واستكبروا ولما أوليتهم جحدوا

And grown arrogant and when you were made regent denied

Can a father harm sons who brim

فهل يضرُّ أبٌ أبناءه امتلأوا

حباً له وعصاه منهمُ ولد

With love for him while others disobeyed?

The guilty outcast does not lose hope in you

لا ييأس المذنب المحروم منك إذا

نهاه عن أن يعود الأسر والصفد

If his shackles and jail keep him confined

O house of Osman, be gentle with the adversaries

يا آل عثمان رفقاً بالعداة ولا

تجردوا فيهمُ سيفاً فقد قعدوا

And do not bare swords at them for they have desisted

Jealousy made them plot against your good fortune

على السعادة باتوا يحسدونكمُ

فلم يضر سواهم ذلك الحسد

But that envy only harmed themselves

In their hearts is a sickness of hating you

ففي قلوبهمُ من بغضكم مرضٌ

وفي عيونهمُ من نوركم رمد

And in their eyes an ailment from your light

They will remain in this misery until

فلا يزالون في هذا الشقاء إلى

أن ييأسوا فتراهم كلهم خمدوا

They lose hope and you see them all subside

Gently O Turks in conquering the lands

مهلاً بني الترك في فتح البلاد أما

لحبكم في الأمانيِّ العلى أمد

Is it not for the sake of your grand ideals?

Were it not for you the religion would not have its proof

لولاكمُ ما بدت للدين حجته

ولا استقام لباقي عزه أود

Nor would its remaining glory stand straight

حمد الذي يتوالى واجز من حمدوا

To ongoing praise and reward those who extol

Though your kingdom is beaming in its adornment

وإن ملكَك في إشراق زينتِه

لجنة أنا فيها الطائر الغرد

I am a bird singing joyfully in it

God will fulfill in this world that has smiled

سينجز اللّه في الدنيا التي ابتسمت

للمسلمين على أيديك ما وُعدوا

On Muslims through your hands what was promised

So rejoice O Muslims and look forward

فاستبشروا يا بني الإسلام وانتظروا

غداً فقد ضمن النصرَ المبين غد

To a manifest victory tomorrow brings
