1. حجٌّ كما شاء الوفيُّ الآملُ

    وفريضةٌ فيها الثواب العاجلُ

    A pilgrimage as the loyal friend wished

    And an obligation with immediate reward

  2. أديتها فجعلتها حتماً على

    راجيك لا يلويه عنها شاغل

    I performed it making it a must upon

    Your hopeful who is not distracted from it by any preoccupier

  3. حاولتها زمناً ودون سبيلها

    متطيِّرون كما يشاء العاذل

    I tried it for a time without its means

    While the blamers blame as the critic wishes

  4. كانت لبانة شيِّقٍ فقضيتها

    وعداك أحباب وعصرك طائل

    It was alluring so I accomplished it

    And your loved ones, your era is burdensome

  5. من أنعم الدستور أن يجزى على

    مقدار رحمته المحب العاقل

    It is the most generous statute to reward based on

    The extent of His mercy, the loving, the wise

  6. لما رحلت إلى الحجاز تجددت

    للمسلمين عزائم وشمائل

    When I traveled to Hejaz, renewed

    Were the resolves and traits of Muslims

  7. تسعى وآمال الورى لك تُبَّعٌ

    تشتاقهن مواسم ومحافل

    Aspiring, and the hopes of all people following you

    The seasons and gatherings longing for you

  8. فكأنها فوق العباب سفائن

    وكأنها خلف الركاب جحافل

    As if they are ships above the seas

    And as if they are armies behind the riders

  9. لولا مسارعة السفينة تبتغي

    آمادها لسعى إليك الساحل

    If not for the ship's hastening, seeking

    Its anchorage, the coast would have hastened to you

  10. والعيس مشرفة الظهور كأنها

    مما بنيت منازل ومعاقل

    And Al-Ais appearing as if it was

    Among what was built of homes and fortresses

  11. أخذت نصيباً من حنينك فانطوت

    بيدٌ لها دون المدى ومراحل

    It got a share of your affection so it folded

    A hand for it beyond extent and stages

  12. فإذا حدتهن الحوائم فوقها

    لبَّى حصىً من تحتها وجنادل

    So when the spates above it swelled

    Pebbles beneath it answered and disputed

  13. شرَّفتَها في أخريات زمانها

    يوماً فعاودها الفخار الزائل

    You honored it in the last days of its time

    A day so the fleeting pottery returned to it

  14. فَأْذَنْ لها أن تستريح فإنه

    أضحى خليفتها الحديد الجائل

    So permit it to rest, for it

    Became succeeded by the raging iron

  15. واخضرت الصحراء للجند الذي

    أنست به وهو الرهيب الهائل

    And the desert turned green for the army

    With which it became friendly, formidable and huge

  16. عطفت عليه وحوشها وأظلَّهُ

    سربان في أفقٍ قطاً وأجادل

    It inclined to it while its beasts

    Shaded it, flocks in a horizon, wildcats and ostriches

  17. وعقيلةُ الملك الكبير وحولها

    من منجبات الكابرين عقائل

    And the precious king's sister-in-law, and around her

    From the eminent ladies, are relatives

  18. في موكب لم تزجِهِ سبأٌ لبل

    قيسٍ ولا لسميرَميسٍ بابل

    In a procession that neither Sheba for Bilqis

    Nor for Samira of Ma'in for Babylon adorned

  19. ولقد تلقتهن مريمُ حولها

    من نسوة الرسلِ النطاقُ الحافل

    And Mary received them around her

    From the messengers' women, a crowded assembly

  20. والزهرتان من الجنان عليهما

    غيرُ الذي لهما حُلَىً وغلائل

    And the two blossoms from Heavens upon them

    Other than what they have of necklaces and bracelets

  21. إن التُّقى وهو الحبيب إليهما

    عبء ينوء به القويُّ الباسل

    Indeed, piety and it is the beloved to them

    A burden that only the strong and valiant carries

  22. أعجلتَهُ لهما كما عجل الصبا

    إن الإمارة عفة وفضائل

    You hastened it to them as the morning hastened

    Indeed, the emirate is chastity and virtues

  23. أولى بمن ملأ البلاد نصيبه

    من هذه الدنيا الخلاق الكامل

    It is more worthy of one who filled the countries, his share

    From this life, the perfect and complete

  24. ولئن حضرت وأكبرتك ممالك

    فلقد بدوت وأكبرتك قبائل

    And if you attended and honored your kingdoms

    You certainly started and honored your tribes

  25. وتود شائقة المدائن أنها

    في مسلكيك مع الركاب قوافل

    And the yearning cities wish they were

    In your paths with the riders, caravans

  26. لو لم ترد قدماك تشريف الثرى

    حملتك عنه جنائب وشمائل

    If not for your feet honouring the ground

    Sides and traits would have carried you beyond extent and stages

  27. سحراً دخلت وما لركبك سابق

    إلا عبيرٌ دونه ومشاعل

    At dawn you entered while no rider preceded you

    Except a perfume short of it and lights

  28. وتساءلت تلك الجبال أنفحة

    من مصر أم ملك كريم نازل

    And those mountains wondered: is it a breeze

    From Egypt or a generous king descending?

  29. وسعى لك الحَجَرُ الكريم وإنه

    لأجل ما استلمت يدٌ وأنامل

    And the precious stone sought you and it is

    Because of what your hand held and fingers

  30. لانت لنجواك الصخور فلم تقف

    إلا وجلمدها كثيب سائل

    The rocks softened so they only stopped

    When their solidity became like flowing sand

  31. وشفت دموعك من حرار رمالها

    ما ليس يشفيه الغمام الهاطل

    And your tears from the heat of its sands cured

    What cannot be cured by pouring rain

  32. فلئن بكيت فما بكيت ضراعة

    إلا وأنت أمام ربك ماثل

    So if you cried, you did not cry pleading

    Except while you are standing before your Lord

  33. ما كان سعيك بين مروة والصفا

    إلا وأنت عن الرعية سائل

    Your endeavor between Safa and Marwah

    Was only while you were asking about the people

  34. ولئن دعوت بصالح لهمُ كما

    عاهدتهم فهو الدعاء الشامل

    And if you prayed for their righteousness, as

    You promised them, it is an inclusive prayer

  35. لم لا يفيض معين زمزم غامراً

    تلك السهول وأنت منه ناهل

    Why does not Zamzam flowing lavishly flood

    Those plains while you are drawing from it?

  36. ما المنُّ والسلوى أجل اليوم من

    خبز الفقير وأنت منه آكل

    What are the blessings and comfort today more than

    The poor’s bread while you are eating from it?

  37. يا حبذا أنت المضحي المفتدي

    ولنعمت الزلفى ونعم النائل

    How great you are! You are the sacrificing redeemer

    And for the intimacy and blessings of attainment

  38. ولنعم برك بالحجيج إذا التوت

    سبلٌ وصال على المطايا صائل

    And for your blessing the pilgrims when misguidance

    And paths of connection on the mounts become confused

  39. ضمن الأمان لهم صليل مهند

    للّه عندك أو جواد صاهل

    You guaranteed them safety: the neighing of the steed

    For Allah's cause you have or a neighing mule

  40. ويرون من نعم الإله عليهم

    أن يسمعوك وأنت داع آمل

    And they see from God’s blessings upon them

    That they hear you while you are a hopeful caller

  41. أغلى هداياهم إلى أوطانهم

    أنباء ما أحيا السماح الحاصل

    The most precious of their gifts to their homelands

    Are news of what the friendly attainment revived

  42. فكأنما الغيث الذي ملأ القرى

    لنداك في تلك البقاع مساجل

    So it is as if the rain that filled the towns

    Contending with your call in those lands

  43. ما بين جدك والخليل سَمِيِّهِ

    سببٌ إلى اللّه المهيمن واصل

    What lies between your grandfather and the Friend (Prophet Abraham)

    A reason to Allah, the Everlasting Sustainer

  44. هذا له فضل البناء مباركاً

    تعنو جبابرة له وعياهل

    This one has the virtue of blessed construction

    Arrogant tyrants covet him and helpers

  45. ولذاك فضلُ نجاتِه من بعد ما

    كادت تميل بحائطيه زلازل

    And that one has the virtue of his salvation after

    His walls almost tilted with tremors

  46. نالت مودتَك الكريمةَ هاشمٌ

    ميمونةً وتَلَمَّسَتْها وائل

    Your generous affection deserved Hashim

    Auspiciously and Wael felt it

  47. ضربوا هناك لك الخيام وإنها

    مثل القصور ثوابت وأواهل

    They pitched tents for you there, and they are

    Like palaces, firm and lofty

  48. فكأنما قاماتهم طنب لها

    ونياط هاتيك القلوب حبائل

    It is as if their heights are aromatic for it

    And the lining of those hearts are entanglements

  49. وأرتك طه في جلال وقاره

    سيما على أبنائه ومخايل

    And I left Taha (Pharaoh) in his majesty and dignity

    An attribute upon his youths and disciples

  50. يا ناصر السلطان كيف مكانه

    من عُرْبِ تلك البيد وهو العادل

    O supporter of the Sultan, how is his position

    Among the tents of that wilderness and he is the just?

  51. إن الأمانة ما حملت إليهم

    وكأن جبريل الأمين الحامل

    The honesty with which they were entrusted

    Is as if the trusted Gabriel carried it

  52. إن ضرج البطحاءَ يوم تمردوا

    دمُهم فأنت لذلك الدمِ غاسل

    Your blood cleansed the plain the day they rebelled

    And you are the washer of that blood

  53. ولئن غرست مواضياً وعوالياً

    غادرتها في القفر وهي خمائل

    And if you planted meadows and summits

    You left them in the desert, and they are loves

  54. إن شئتَ غادرتِ الجيادَ أعنَّةٌ

    أو شئت فارقت السيوف حمائل

    If you wished, you left the steeds, bundles

    Or if you wished, you parted with the swords, burdens

  55. أينازعون على الخلافة قادة

    لولاهم غال الخلافة غائل

    They dispute over the Caliphate, while leaders

    If not for them, the Caliphate would have been lost

  56. اللّه قدرها لهم وأعزهم

    ما دام فيهم قانت ومقاتل

    God destined it for them and dignified them

    As long as there is a servile and a fighter among them

  57. فليسكن العرب الكرام إليهم

    ولْيَرْبَأَنَّ بنفسه المتطاول

    So the generous Arabs should feel reassured with them

    And the transgressor should restrain himself

  58. هل يفتديها والخطوب جلائلٌ

    من لم يصبها والخطوب قلائل

    Can he ransom it while the adversities are significant?

    One who did not attain it while the adversities are few

  59. لبّى دعاءك كل ناء نازح

    ووعى نصيحتك العصيُّ الغافل

    Your call is answered by everydeparting companion

    And the disobedient heedless perceived your advice

  60. ولقد شهدتَ فما هناك مغايبٌ

    وقدِ اطلعت فما هناك مجاهل

    And you witnessed so there are no unseen things

    And you saw so there are no ignorant ones

  61. لولا قواك استوقفتك بيثربٍ

    وبمكةَ الذكرى وأنت مزايل

    If not for your strength, Medina would have detained you

    And Mecca, the memento, while you are departing

  62. أثنى عليك الراشدون وأكبروا

    ما تبتغي لتراثهم وتحاول

    The right-guided praised you and honored

    What you seek for their heritage and strive for

  63. ومن السماء رسائلٌ فيها الرضى

    تترى إليك ومن فروق رسائل

    And from the sky are messages in which is approval

    Sent to you, and most messengers are noble

  64. للقدس عندك حقُّ وافٍ عاتبٍ

    لو لم يعده الحج عام آجل

    For Jerusalem you have a right that admonishes

    If the pilgrimage does not fulfill it one year

  65. يا مرجع الدنيا إلينا نضرة

    أرجع إلينا الدين فهو الكافل

    O destination of the world, to us a happiness

    Return the religion to us for it is the guarantor

  66. حسب الورى شرحاً وتفسيراً له

    ما أنت فاعله وما أنا قائل

    The universe is pleased with your explanation for it

    With what you are doing and what I am saying

  67. فيه السماح لما تضم كنائسٌ

    لو يعلمون وما تضم هياكل

    In it is the tolerance for what churches contain

    If they know, and what temples contain

  68. لو يكرهون على اتباع سبيله

    ما اغتال حقاً في البرية باطل

    If they dislike following its path

    Falsehood would not have assassinated truth in the desert

  69. فإذا رفعت مناره في أمة

    يوماً فقد عاد الخليط الراحل

    So if its minaret is raised in a nation

    One day, the departing blend has returned

  70. يا ضارباً في الأرض ميمون الخطا

    إن التجارب للنفوس صياقل

    O walker on earth, auspicious is your step

    Trials for the souls are polishers

  71. ما كان للأحرار أن يتخلَّفوا

    لولا عوائق جمة وحوائل

    It was not for the free to lag behind

    If not for grand obstacles and barriers

  72. فانقل إلى الشرقين ما حصَّلتَه

    في المغربين فأنت نعم الناقل

    So convey to the two easts what you collected

    In the two wests, for you are an excellent conveyor

  73. والشعب يرضى ما رضيت وإنه

    في العالمين كما عملت لعامل

    And the people accept what you accept, and they

    Are in the two worlds as you acted upon the doer

  74. أعجل خطاه إلى العلاء فإنه

    ألف الهوينا الناهض المتثاقل

    Hasten his steps to the heights, for he

    Is accustomed to our ambitious soaring

  75. لا الأرض شائكة ولا الآفاق دا

    جية ولا السند المرجَّى مائل

    Neither is the land thorny, nor are the horizons blocked

    Nor the relied upon ally leaning

  76. إن ترض عن أحراره وأباته

    يوماً فقد ودَّ المعولَ العائل

    If you become pleased with its freemen and fathers

    One day, the toiling ally wished

  77. وإذا وهبتهمُ الذي سألوكه

    لم تبق بعدُ مآرب ومسائل

    And if you gave them what they asked you

    No whims and issues would remain

  78. وإذا رأوا خيراً فمنك وإن همُ

    منعوا فما أنت المنوع الباخل

    And if they saw good, then it is from you, and if they

    Were prevented, you are not the preventing stingy

  79. يا بانيَ الأبطال قبل ديارهم

    هل أعوزتك ذرائع ووسائل

    O builder of heroes before their homes

    Did means and methods run out on you?

  80. لا تأمننَّ على الديار عداتها

    يوماً وفي أيدي العداة معاول

    Do not entrust the homes to their enemies

    One day, while the enemies have pickaxes

  81. مولاي فانصر ناصريك عليهمُ

    فإذا تعاونا استحال الخاذل

    My Master, help your supporters against them

    For if we cooperate, the coward will dissolve

  82. وارع الألى ملأوا البلاد تقاضياً

    فعسى يفي لهمُ الغريم الماطل

    And the lofty, they filled the countries with litigation

    So perhaps the due fulfiller will suffice for them

  83. ما عذر من يغضي ويغضب كلما

    أقدمت لولا أنه متحامل

    What is the excuse of one who turns away and rages whenever

    You move forward, if not for his aggression?

  84. خيرٌ لنا جدُّ الزمانِ وإن قسا

    من أن يخادعنا الزمان الهازل

    Better for us, the era's grandfather, even if harsh

    Than the deceiving, frivolous era

  85. ملقاك موعدنا الخليق بكل ما

    يروى البشير ويذكر المتفائل

    We will meet you at the appointment worthy of all

    The bringer of good news tells and the optimist mentions
