حقليَ اليوم سعيدٌ

My field today is happy

With the Prime Minister

مر في الركب عليه

بسلام الأنبياءِ

He passed by it

With the greetings of the Prophets

كاد يجري خلفه ما

فيه من ظلٍّ وماءِ

It almost ran after him with

Whatever shade and water it contained

وتلقت ثمرات ال

أرض عبء الأجراء

And the fruits of the

Land took on the burden of the tillers

فهي في الرخص حفاظٌ

وهي يسرٌ في الغلاء

So it is thrift in cheapness

And ease in expensiveness

فَكَّها من فَكَّ قومي

من قيود الغرماء

He released it from the shackles

That indebted peoples were bound in

ووقاها البيع جبراً

وهي في سوق القضاء

And protected it from forced sale

While in the market of justice

خرجت من بنك أرنس

تَ إلى بنك السماء

It came out of the Bank of England

To the Bank of the Heavens

تحمل الدين خفيفاً

في مواعيد الوفاء

Bearing a light debt

In terms of faithful payment

وسأبقى بعفافي

في سجل الأغنياء

And I will remain in my chastity

In the register of the wealthy

جلد الزارع عندي

وخيال الشعراء

The farmer's patience is with me

And the poet's imagination
