1. رسل الإمام المقبلين صباحا

    يهدون مصر سلامها الفياحا

    The imam's messengers set out at dawn

    Bearing Egypt its refreshing peace

  2. كثرت إلينا سبلكم فاخترتمُ

    في الجو ميداناً لكم ومراحا

    You have opened many paths to us, so you have chosen

    The sky as your arena and refuge

  3. عوجوا على الوادي المقدس واهبطوا

    أرضاً تفيض لكم ندى وسماحا

    Veer towards the sacred valley and descend

    Upon a land that overflows for you with dew and clemency

  4. إن تنزلوا أبراجها وقصورها

    فلقد ملكتم قبلها الأرواحا

    If you land upon its towers and palaces

    You have already conquered its spirits beforehand

  5. طرتم بأجنحة الحديد إلى حمىً

    ودت رباه لو تكون رياحا

    With wings of iron you have flown to protect

    A beloved land that wished it could become winds

  6. وطويتمُ الآفاق وهي صحيفة

    تتلون فيها البينات فصاحا

    And you have spanned the horizons which are a scroll

    Upon which proofs are illuminated loudly

  7. ورأيتم الأوطان حول مجازكم

    متطلعات أجبلاً وبطاحا

    And you have seen the homelands around your orbits

    Yearning mountains and lowlands

  8. ودنوتمُ والدهر سلمٌ بعد ما

    ملأ الحماة الكائنات كفاحا

    And you have come close while time is a staircase after

    The protectors had filled existence with struggle

  9. أنتم أحق بنضرة الوطن الذي

    أضحى متاعاً للعباد مباحا

    You are more deserving of your homeland’s blossoms that

    Has become permitted to all people

  10. وعرفتمُ أبناءه إخوانكم

    وأميره ذا النجدة المناحا

    And you have known its children as your brothers

    And its prince of ready help

  11. والنيل وهو يود لو يجري إلى

    أخويه دجلة والفرات قراحا

    The Nile wishes that it could flow to

    Its brothers the Tigris and Euphrates in haste

  12. أهل الفتوحات التي سلفت كفى

    بالعلم بعد حسامكم فتاحا

    O people of the conquests of past times enough

    With the sword after your swords opened the way

  13. أهلاً بعهدكم الجديد معاوداً

    ذاك الفخار الطائل الوضّاحا

    Welcome is your new era restoring

    That towering glorious past

  14. إني رأيت غريمكم قد خافكم

    فوفى ونجم الشرق عاد فلاحا

    I saw your enemy fear you

    So he fulfilled his duties and the star of the East shone

  15. لو تحرصون على بقيّة ملككم

    أرجعتمُ ما فات منه وطاحا

    If you take care to keep the rest of your kingdom

    You will regain what was lost from it and fell

  16. وسبقتمُ أرقى الشعوب ورعتمُ

    شوس الملوك تطاولاً وطماحا

    And you preceded the most noble of nations and shepherded

    The aspirations of kings in ambition and desire

  17. إن الأمانيَّ التي ناجيتها

    صدقت فجئتكمُ بها صداحا

    The wishes I confided are truthful

    So I came to you voicing them loudly

  18. وشهدت موكبكم بها متأهِّباً

    فشهدت مأمول النجاة متاحا

    And I witnessed your parade prepared for them

    So I witnessed the attainable hope

  19. وسمعت عن آت الحياة حديثكم

    فشربت من هذا الحديث الراحا

    And I heard your talk of the water of life

    So I drank ease from this talk

  20. أنا من عرفتم قلبه متلهباً

    والرأي حراً والبيان صراحا

    I am one whose heart you knew to be flaming

    Free in opinion and frank in expression

  21. أسوان في بلد حُرمتُ ربيعه

    ولقيت لافح صيفه اللواحا

    Aswan in a land deprived of its spring

    And met the flames of its summer afflicted

  22. لو كان يحمل ذا الحنين حنينه

    أصبحت في بوغازكم ملَّاحا

    If this yearning carried its own yearning

    It would become salty in your sea routes

  23. لأرى شمائل في فروقَ كريمة

    وأرى وجوهاً في فروق مِلاحا

    To see noble qualities in glorious leaders

    And see faces of glorious chiefs

  24. وعساي فيها أسترد وديعة

    عند الزمان وأتقي مجتاحا

    And to recover there my deposit

    From time and avoid the combative

  25. فمروا النسيم بأن يقل متيماً

    يأبى عليه البين أن يرتاحا

    So pass the breeze to whisper devotedly

    Though separation refuses to be soothed

  26. كم بات يسمع بارقاً متكلماً

    عنكم ويسأل بارقاً لمّاحا

    How it spent the night listening to a flashing light

    Speaking of you and asking a flashing guide

  27. ولو استحال إباؤه وولاؤه

    لكمُ سيوفاً أصبحا ورماحا

    And if its refusal and loyalty to you

    Became swords they would be blades and spears

  28. هذي تحية شاعر غنى بها

    لكمُ وباغته النعاة فناحا

    This is the greeting of a poet who sang it

    For you and was surprised by success so he sighed

  29. ملأوا ليَ الأقداح سمّاً بعد ما

    أبصرت أيامي عليّ شحاحا

    They filled the cups with poison after

    I saw my days stingy towards me

  30. إن المسرّات التي في مهجتي

    عادت سقاماً في الحشا وجراحا

    The joys in my mind

    Returned to sickness of dejection and wounds

  31. واستلّت الأقدار سلوة خافق

    ألف الأسى وتعوّد الأتراحا

    Fate pulled out the rashness of a pounding heart

    Accustomed to sorrow and afflictions

  32. وبغى على العقبان عاتٍ عاصفٌ

    أعياهمُ بأساً وطال جماحا

    And a raging storm blew against the eagles

    Exhausting them with might and prolonged flapping

  33. ألقاهمُ من بعد ما جدُّوا به

    مستأمنين وأوسعوه مزاحا

    Casting them down after they were serious

    Seeking refuge and jested with him

  34. وقعوا على الصخر الأصم وليتهم

    وقعوا على المهج الصحاح صحاحا

    They fell on deaf rock, if only they had fallen

    On sincere minds - crash! crash!

  35. جاروا صلاح الدين ثم تجاوروا

    تعلي دمشق مقامهم والساحا

    Theymimicked Salah al-Din then plotted

    To raise Damascus while their abode was the plain

  36. لم يذهب الملأ السيوف ضحية

    إلا ليلقى اللاحقون نجاحا

    The notables did not fall to the swords

    Save so the successors would attain success

  37. كم مفتد أوطانه أروى الثرى

    دمه الذكي فأنبت الإصلاحا

    How many sacrificing their homelands watered the soil

    With their precious blood, growing reform

  38. رعياً لأبطال تواروا بعد ما

    رفعوا الحجاب وأوقدوا المصباحا

    Tending to heroes who passed away after

    Lifting the veil and igniting the lamp

  39. إخوانهم إن السبيل ممهد

    فخذوه جواً أو خذوه براحا

    Their brothers - the path is paved

    Take it by air or take it on the ground

  40. ولئن شفى أعداءكم دمكم فكم

    أنجبتمُ لدمائهم سفاحا

    And even if your blood healed your enemies

    How many killers did their blood produce

  41. فخذوا بثارات الرجال وآخذوا

    هذا الزمان بما أسرَّ وباحا

    So take the revenge of men and seize

    This era for confessing and raving
