أبغض عنصر السلافِيِّينا

طبيعةً وعادةً ودينا

I despise the Slavic peoples

In nature, habit, and religion

إن شئت أغريت شعوب آسِيَهْ

فانتقضوا على جنود روسِيَهْ

If you wish, I could provoke the peoples of Asia

To rise up against the soldiers of Russia

كما تريد أمة التاميزِ

وليس ذا عليَّ بالعزيزِ

As the Tamil nation desires

And this is not difficult for me

أما سياسيّاً فلست أبدي

للروس في ذي الحرب غير الودِّ

But politically, I will not be hostile

To the Russians in this war

ليعلم العالم أني أحرصُ

على رضى جاري ولا أفترصُ

Let the world know that I am keen

To please my neighbor and not impose

وأغفر الآثام للأثيمِ

إن حال عن منزعه الذميمِ

And I forgive the sins of the sinner

If he refrains from his perverse inclination

كما أمرتُ مسلمي الهنودِ

لأمة التاميز بالتأييدِ

As I ordered the Muslims of India

To support the Tamil nation

ولستُ أدري أأضرُّ نفسي

بصنع يومي كصنيع أمسي

And I do not know if I harm myself

With my present actions like my past ones

أم عند جاري يحفظ الجميلُ

ويحمد الإيثار والتفضيلُ

Or if my neighbor preserves favors

And praises altruism and preference

أم أنا لا أفرُّ من يأجوجا

إلا ليغشاني أذى مأجوجا

Or if I cannot flee from Gog and Magog

Except they pursue me with the harm of Magog

قد فُتِحَ السدُّ وأي حولِ

أرده به وأي طولِ

The dam has been opened, and what power

Can I stop it with, and what length
