1. فيك الرجاء مسلماً ومودعا

    متمهلاً فيما تروم ومسرعا

    In you is hope, as a Muslim and a fareweller

    Taking your time in what you intend and hastening

  2. حسب المواطن من صفاتك أنها

    وجدتك مشتد العزيمة أروعا

    According to the qualities of your character

    I found you most resolute and magnificent

  3. تسعى إلى خير المقاصد مفرداً

    فتنال منها ما نأى وتمنعا

    You strive for the best purposes alone

    So you attain some and prevent others

  4. حتى أعدت من المناقب والعلى

    ما أفقد الدهر العنيد وضيعا

    Until you regained from virtues and heights

    What time, the obstinate, had wasted and squandered

  5. وجمعت بين الأمتين موفَّقاً

    للخير بالسبب الذي لن يقطعا

    And you united the two nations, succeeding

    In good, for the cause that will never be severed

  6. وكفيت شعبك أن يراع بحادث

    ويخاف بأساً للعداة ومطمعا

    And spared your people from fearing an accident

    Or dreading violence from enemies and greed

  7. وملأت عصرك بالفتوحات التي

    ما غادرت حصناً أشم وموقعا

    And filled your time with victories by which

    You left no lofty citadel untouched

  8. بكتائب أظللتها بخوافق

    كالسحب إلا أنها لن تقشعا

    With battalions whose tents shadowed them

    Like clouds, only they will never disperse

  9. ورميت خصم الملك بالحرب التي

    فيها نصرت على الحسام المدفعا

    And you targeted the enemy of the kingdom with war

    In which you made the cannon defeat the sword

  10. ما ثار محتدماً وأرسل مارجاً

    حتى هوت شمُّ الرواسي رُكَّما

    Until it raged furiously and unleashed a blaze

    Till the firmly anchored pillars collapsed

  11. وسطت جنودك في البلاد فزلزلت

    رهباً وضيقت الفضاء الموسعا

    Your armies penetrated the lands, so you shook

    Terror, and narrowed the vast space

  12. ما زال بأسك في القبائل سائراً

    ملء الجوانح بالأعادي موقعا

    Your might still roams the tribes

    Filling the chests of enemies with terror

  13. حتى جرى دمهم فروى غلة

    لم يروها النيل المبارك مترعا

    Until their blood flowed, watering produce

    That the blessed Nile never irrigated as it overflowed

  14. وأتاك محتفلاً بحكمك راضيا

    من كان يأبى أن يذل ويخضعا

    And they came to you celebrating your rule, satisfied

    Those who had refused to be disgraced and submit

  15. فغفرت ذنب التائبين تكرماً

    وحبوتهم صفو الحياة تبرعا

    So you forgave the sins of the penitent, generously

    And endowed them the essence of life, voluntarily

  16. أتمم عليهم هذه النعمى ولا

    تحرمهم من نور وجهك مطلعا

    Complete this blessing upon them, and do not

    Deprive them of the light of your rising countenance

  17. وارفق بهم فلقد تكاد قلوبهم

    شوقاً إلى ملقاك أن تتصدعا

    And be gentle with them, for their hearts almost

    Crack with yearning for your encounter

  18. زرهم زيارة جدك الأعلى الذي

    لم تخل من ذكرى نداه موضعا

    Visit them with the visit of your noble ancestor

    Of whom no place lacks the memory of his voice

  19. واستعرض الجند الرهيب ممثلاً

    لك كيف ساق إلى العصاة المصرعا

    And parade the formidable army representing you

    Showing how it brought death to the rebels

  20. عظة لمن أبقيت لا متشفيا

    بالهالكين ولا لهم متوجعا

    An admonishment for those you left, neither

    Gloating over the dead, nor pained for them

  21. حيناً وحينا فِضْ ببرِّك فيهم

    حتى ترى الصحراء روضاً ممرعا

    Sometimes, and sometimes, shower them with your grace

    Until you see the desert become a lush meadow

  22. ويدوم مضموناً نعيم حياتهم

    ما دمت للنيلين أوسع منبعا

    And the bliss of their lives lasts guaranteed

    As long as you are the vastest source of the two Niles

  23. لهم الهناء فقد جرى في أرضهم

    نهر من النهرين أحلى مشرعا

    They have joy, for one of the two rivers flowed

    In their land, very sweetly meandering

  24. لو كان بشّرهم بعهدك ناصح

    ما صدَّقوا مهديَّهم فيما ادَّعى

    If a counselor had told them of your era

    They wouldn't have believed their right-guided one's claim

  25. ولما أقاموا دون جندك معقلاً

    ولما رأوا إلا إليك المفزعا

    And they wouldn't have resisted your armies

    And seen no refuge but you

  26. ستراهمُ إذ تلتقيك وفودُهم

    كالبحر ماج عبابُه فتدفعا

    You will see them, when their delegations encounter you

    Like a turbulent sea, with swelling waves

  27. وتكاد من فرط السرور وجوههم

    تبيضُّ حتى تجتليها لُمَّعا

    And from intense joy, their faces

    Almost whiten, till they shine radiantly

  28. لو يعلم الماضون ما أوليته ال

    باقين لاختاروا إليك المرجعا

    If the departed knew what you bestowed on

    The remaining, they would have chosen you as their refuge

  29. ولو استغاثوا قبل ذاك من الردى

    وجدوا شفيعاً من رضاك مشفعا

    Had they before that sought help from evil

    They would have found in your approval, an intercessor

  30. عباس للإيمان والسلطان وال

    أوطان ما أصبحت فينا مزمعا

    Abbas, defender of faith, authority and homelands

    What hopes in us you made, not wavering

  31. ما زال وعد اللّه بين عباده

    حتى رأوك وفاءه المتوقعا

    God's promise to His servants continues

    Until they saw you fulfilling the expected

  32. فادع الشعوب إلى الخليفة جامعاً

    في اللّه بين الدين والدنيا معا

    So call the nations to the Caliph, uniting

    Through God, religion and life together

  33. واجعل لها في كل قطرٍ مُبعَدٍ

    عنها مناراً أو طريقاً مهيعا

    And make for them in each distant region

    A minaret, or an easy path

  34. لا زلت ميمون التنقُّل محيياً

    لمقامك المصطاف والمتربعا

    You still graciously revive pilgrimage

    To your Mustafa's abode and headquarters

  35. ورعاك من أعطاك حكماً عادلاً

    وهُدىً تسوس به ممالك أربعا

    May He who gave you just rule watch over you

    And guidance to govern four realms
