1. ولا تَفشِيَن سرّاً إلى غَيرِ حِرزه

    ولا تُكثِرِ الشَّكَوى إلى غَيرِ عابِدِ

    Do not reveal a secret to anyone but its keeper

    Do not complain abundantly to anyone but the devout

  2. فيا رُبَّ مِن شَجنٍ يَسُرُّكَ شامِتاً

    ومَولَى وإن قَرّبتَهُ مُتبَاعِدِ

    O how much sorrow would please an enemy

    A patron though you draw him near is distant

  3. ومَعذِرَةٍ جَرَّت إلَيكَ مَلاَمَةً

    وطارِفِ مالٍ هاجَ إتلافَ تالِدِ

    An excuse that brought blame upon you

    A pleasant money that aroused the ruin of property
