أَبلِغ أُبَيّاً عَلَى نَأيِهِ

وهَل يَنفَعُ الَمرءَ ما قَد عَلِم

Inform Ubayy in his remoteness,

And does it benefit a man what he has known,

بأَنَّ أَخاكَ شَقيقَ الفُؤا

دِ كُنتَ بِه واثِقاً ما سَلِم

That your brother, a close friend,

You were confident in him, he did not remain safe,

لَدَى مَلِكٍ مُوثَقٍ في الَحدي

دِ إمَّا بِحَقٍّ وإماَّ ظُلِم

With a guaranteed king in prison,

Either with truth or oppressed,

فلا أَعِرفَنكَ كَدَأبِ الغُلا

مِ ما لَم يَجِد عارِماً يَعتَرمِ

So I do not know you as the habit of tyrants,

Who did not find a deterrent to deter,

فأَرضَكَ أَرضَكَ إن تَأتِنا

نَنَم لَيلَةً لَيسَ فيها حُلُم

So your land, your land, if you come to us,

We will sleep a night in which there is no dream.
