نسب الرياض إلى الغمام شريف

ومحلها عند النسيم لطيفُ

The gardens of Riyadh are attributed to the clouds, noble

And its place with the breeze is gentle

فاشرب وثقل وزن جامك انه

يوم على قلب الزمان خفيف

So drink and fill your cup, for it

Is a day on the heart of time, light

أو ما ترى طرز البروق توسطت

أفقا كأن المزن فيه شفوف

Or do you not see the lines of lightning that split

A horizon as if the downpour in it is pouring

واليوم من خجل الشقيق مضرج

خجل ومن مرض النسيم ضعيف

And today the anemone is blushing from shyness

Bashful, and from the sickness of the breeze, weak

والارض طرس والرياض سطوره

والزهر شكل بينها وحروف

And the land is pavement and the gardens are its lines

And the flowers shapes between them and letters

وكأنما الدولاب ضل طريقه

فتراه ليس يزول وهو يطوف

And it is as if the wheel has lost its way

So you see it does not disappear while it spins
