O you who turned away from farewell in sorrow,
Filling your thoughts with youth and anguish,
With tears flowing, so it seems in their depths
Are the children of Ishmael.
O exalted mountain whose height
Brought glory to the time of old,
Your hands have divided its grace among the lands
So you have become the giver of its destined shares.
You have given your glory a garment embroidered
To clothe the envious in gloom and fading,
You have revived a beloved and Al-Walid who distinguished
Themselves in it and spread tales of its weaving,
So Al-Tai brought it wit’s refinement
And Al-Buhturi grace and acceptance.
