نور البديعين تتميم وتجنيس

What did the garden of literature say in farewell

To the light of the eloquent, assonance and consonance

ترى به حيوان البرّ مصطلحاً

ظبي الكناس يوازي ضيغم الخيس

You see the animal of righteousness made a term

The noble doe equals the vile weasel

كأنه وضياء الشمس تنشره

والكفُّ تطويه أذناب الطواويس

As if it were the radiance of the sun it spreads

And the palm folds it, tails of peacocks

كأن لابسه والتيه يعطفه

نشوان يختال بين الكأس والكيس

As if its wearer and lost one pity him

Revelry struts between the cup and the bag
