لِعزّك ذلّت الأُمم
وفيك تعلت الهمم
For your glory nations bowed down
And through you aspirations were exalted
ونحوك حارت الألبابُ
لا يأسٌ ولا سأم
And minds perplexed about you
No despair nor boredom
إذا ما خلَّفت عَلَماً
بدا من خلفها علم
Whenever you left a banner
Another rose in its place
طريق لا انتهاءَ له
وسيرٌ ما به ألم
An endless path
And a journey without pain
تعاظم مُلكُ من وجدت
به الأجسامُ والنّسم
The kingdom grew for those who found
Through it bodies and souls
وأيقن أنَّه الجبّا
ر هذا الخلق كلُّهم
And knew he is the Almighty
Creator of all existence
ولاحت في الوجود له
شهود ليس تُتَّهم
And for him proofs shone in life
Witnesses above suspicion
مخاطبةٌ ولا كَلِمٌ
مكاتبة ولا قلم
An address without words
Correspondence without pen or paper
لقد نادت مصرِّحةً
بأن الله ربكم
Egypt proclaimed plainly
That God is your Lord
فيا عجباً أيَعصي الله
من بُسِطَت له النعم
How strange those who disobey God
When bounties are bestowed on them
فلم يسهر له جَفنٌ
ولم يتعب له قدم
No eyelid was sleepless for him
No feet grew weary for him
فيا من لا يؤدي شك
ره عُربٌ ولا عجم
O you who do not thank
Him, neither Arab nor foreigner
ومن بهرت دلائله
وقد عمَّ النُّهى عمم
And you whose proofs dazzled
And prohibitions spread far
ومن تعصي خليقته
ومنه الستر والكرم
You disobey the One whose creation
Grants you veil and generosity
بدت شمس من التوحيد
فانقشعت لها الظُّلم
The sun of monotheism rose
Dispelling for it all darkness
وجاء خليفةٌ شهدت
بطاعته لك الأمم
And a Caliph came whom all nations
Witnessed obeying you
جمعت الخافقين له
ولم يسفك لديه دم
Who united the horizons for him
Without bloodshed before him
وصنت المسلمين له
فلا خوف ولا عَدَم
And protected the Muslims for him
Without fear or lack
فأمر الدين والدنيا
بحمد الله منتظم
The affairs of religion and life
In ordered praise of God
وكفُّ الفضل واكفةٌ
وثغر العدل مبتسم
Cessation of grace and its entirety
The smile of justice
لنا منه مع السَّاعات
جود ليس ينصرم
From him in hours
Generosity without limit
إمامٌ مشرقُ الآثار
ماضي الفكر معتزم
An Imam of brilliant deeds
Resolute in thought
فقد صنعت له الأقدار
ما لا تصنع البهم
Destinies made for him
What confusion cannot make
إذا عظَّ الورى زمن
فإن فناءه حرم
If time brings glory
Its passing is forbidden
وإن غشيتهم محن
فطاعة أمره عصم
And if trials befall them
Obeying him is protection
له نعم على الآوي
إليه وفي العدا نقم
For those who take refuge in him
Are bounty, and for foes, wrath
فنور جبينه برق
وجود يمينه ديم
The light of his forehead shone
The existence of his right hand eternal
فقل للجاحدين له
وفي آذانهم صمم
Say to those denying him
Deaf in their ears
أفيقوا إن خلفكم
جيوش سيلها عَرِمُ
Awaken, behind you armies
With torrents raging
بحار غير راكدة
وفيها النار تضطرم
Restless seas
With fires kindling
وطائفة موحدة
عراهُ ليس تنفصم
And a united band
Whose bond will not break
إذا ما الإفكُ قابلها
فإن الإفك منهزم
When falsehood faces it
Falsehood is defeated
فيا من غرَّ ناظره
زخارف شادها الحُلُم
O you whose vision was marred
By fancies that dreams built
أعِد نظراً فإنَّ هواك
في دعواك متهم
Reconsider, your passion in your claim
Is suspect
وفي الأغماد إن أصرر
ت سر ليس ينكتم
In sheaths, if you insist
A secret that cannot be concealed
فإنَّ خليفة الرحم
ن بالرحمن معتصم
The Caliph of the Merciful
Is protected by the Merciful
أمام عدوّه نقمٌ
وخلف وجوده العدم
Before his foe, wrath
Behind his existence, naught
