1. And who, O Sufficer of all beings, is there for my want,

when You are the One who has sufficed all creation?

  2. Enough for me—sufficiency, O Sufficer, and freedom from need—

through Your sufficing me, O God, most generous of sufficiencies.

  3. What soul, Lord, have You not encompassed

with Your goodness and beneficence at every moment?

  4. And what soul, O Sufficer, have You ever forsaken,

so that it fled to a sufficer besides You and hastened to him?

  5. Exalted are You: no being besides You brings forth

the provisions of those whom You have truly brought into being.

  6. Who, then, is there for me, when helplessness engulfs me and my need

lies before Your eye? Who can suffice to relieve my need?

  7. Far from it—no indeed! This servant has no sufficiency

other than You, nor anyone to hope in for a grave task.

  8. My God, I pour out all my anguish and sorrow

to You; so be the one who drives my affliction away.

  9. Never have I known my hopes, whenever they turned

to You, O Sufficer, to be sent back disappointed.

  10. Nor have I ever known, my Master, that one could dispense with You

through anything; so suffice me, O Sufficer, as all my wealth.
