1. O Upholder of justice, O equitable Judge of all judgments,

    O just One in judgment, adjudicate my complaint fairly.

  2. I call upon You, wronged through the rulings of one deemed just,

    and through the tyranny of oppressors who have run rampant among creation.

  3. Their forces joined against my weakness and struck grievously;

    from You—for You are the equitable, just One—comes my deliverance.

  4. And I—for You are the equitable, just One—am certain

    of Your protective zeal, O God, beyond any zeal of mine.

  5. Yet a servant’s patience falls short of his affliction,

    and in Your justice, O God, lies the settlement of the case.

  6. What can their arrogance avail when You are their destroyer,

    their justly appointed breaker—even if after a respite?

  7. Your reprieving the enemies is a loathing that envelops them,

    leading to a promised, justice-dealing punishment.

  8. By Your justice the earth and heaven stand,

    as do all other beings in creation.

  9. God’s justice between me and them is enough for me;

    that is a judgment no pretext can overturn.

  10. O Upholder of justice, O equitable One, exact my due

    from them through Your justice, and rid me of them with a crushing blow.
