1. My God—the Truly Near through knowledge, absolutely

    beyond creation—not with the nearness of mingling or intermixture.

  2. My God—the Truly Near through that power which

    brings things into effect from the outset, requiring no intermediary.

  3. My God is near in answering supplication,

    near to His beloved ones with the nearness of love.

  4. My God, swift to open every locked thing;

    my God, swift to bring rescue from every anguish;

  5. my God, swift to bring relief to every sufferer;

    my God, ever near in everlasting mercy.

  6. My God, my nearness to You is the nearness of worship,

    and Your nearness to me is the nearness of goodness and mercy.

  7. How could I be far from You, when nearness, O my Lord—

    —is closer to my very nature than the jugular vein?

  8. By Your nearness, draw me near as a confidant, wholly sincere,

    away from remoteness from my Lord caused by the evil of my way.

  9. My God, honor me by bringing near the answer to my prayer,

    for I am in desperate need, my affliction immense.

  10. You have promised nearness and the answering of a prayer

    when it ascends from abasement and dire necessity.
