  2. O Stern in punishment, pursuing and all-conquering, take vengeance

    upon the lying tyrant, the enemy of truth.

  3. O Stern in punishment, equitable and just in judgment,

    confront him with the decree of justice and equity.

  4. O Stern in punishment, Sender-down of terrible might, disgrace him

    with a crushing calamity that no stronghold can ward off.

  5. O Stern in punishment, outwit him and make befall him

    the deeds of an evil plotter among creation.

  6. O Stern in punishment, undo the fastenings of his power,

    and cut off all his means in every direction.

  7. O Stern in punishment, turn his arrows back upon him,

    and cast him headlong through all his rebellious ways.

    and destroy him, fettered in calamity’s captivity.
