1. My God, my need is inseparable from my very being—

    need for the All-Merciful’s mercy at every moment,

  2. need for a glance from the All-Merciful, beneath His beauty.

    I lay bare my desperate need, the afflictions that visit me, and my misery.

  3. My God, O Merciful One, incline Your favor compassionately toward me;

    remove the affliction, my grief, and my anguish.

  4. My God, O Merciful One, I beg You to grant me freedom from need,

    for in the All-Merciful’s abundance, my God, lies all my sufficiency.

  5. My God, O Merciful One, I ask for a mercy

    with which You may mend my brokenness and have mercy on my estrangement.

  6. Through Your generosity, O All-Merciful, every affliction—

    however great—has heralded my dissolution.

  7. My God, O Merciful One, how many a calamity

    has swiftly vanished through Your mercy, O God!

  8. My God, O Merciful One, whatever aid I seek

    is extended through Your mercy, as near as the nearest instant.

  9. My God, O Merciful One, hope has sought refuge in You;

    so favor me in my weakness, O Most Merciful, with a glance.

  10. In the All-Merciful’s tender compassion my innermost realities have sought refuge—

    my life, my poverty, my helplessness, and my lowliness.
