همم الملوك أجلها اعظامها
بالحلم ساد من النفوس عصامها
The ambitions of kings, their greatest glory
Is to prevail with wisdom over souls unruly
والحلم أس والكمال بنية
رفعت على أركانه أعلامها
Wisdom's foundation, perfection's aim erected
High above its pillars fly its flags so mighty
والحلم أرواح وكل زكية
ولع الكرام بصنعها أجسامها
Wisdom's spirit, virtues bloom so brightly
Noble souls longing to shape their bodies stately
وصنائع الأحلام أنفس مفخراً
من كل مفخرة يسود كرامها
Achievements of wisdom, proud immortal souls
Supreme o'er all glories, o'er all honors greatly
كنقيبة الملك الحليم فإنه
للكائنات ملاكها وقوامها
Like the wise king, protector, sustainer of all
For creatures their guardian, their pillar firmly
ملك مقدسة هيولياته
من أن يضاف لفطرة أعظامها
Sacred king, his mighty essence
Beyond what nature itself could shape so wholly
ملك جلالته وعزة شأنه
بمسابح القمرين جل مقامها
King whose majesty, rank's grandeur
In the orbit of two moons glows most sublimely
ملك به الدنيا زهت وتهللت
بجمال طلعة ملكه أيامها
King who joy and delight did evoke
When his reign's dawn shone beautifully
ملك عزائمه تخر لها الملو
ك وفوق هام المشتري أقدامها
King whose strong resolve subdues all kings
His steps higher than Capella posited stately
أسد فرائسه الخضارم في الوغى
جرار كل كتيبة قمقامها
Lion whose prey the vipers in battle's fury
Boulder crushing all troops so utterly
طلاع كل ثنية هزازها
قماع كل عظيمة مصدامها
Rising over every mound, shaking its peaks
Destroyer of each lofty and mighty enemy
حتف على الأضداد لفتة رأيه
لمن السيوف ودونهن حمامها
Death to all opponents with one glance of his mind
Before his sword all swordsmen cower meekly
غلاب ما دون القضاء يحفه
مدد السماء وحارسوه كرامها
Vanquisher of all but divine decree's design
Supported by heaven's aid and guards so manly
تخشى البوادر من جلالة قهره
نوب الصروف فما يشب ضرامها
All omens fear his mighty wrath's vibration
No misfortune dares to draw near or come timely
من للحوادث أن تون جنوده
وتكون في كبد العداة سهامها
For events to undo his armies, defy his reign
And strike in his foes' hearts like arrows straightly
لولا كفالة عزمه بسياسة ال
دنيا كفاه عن الوغى أقدامها
If not for his will's guarantee and wise reign
The world his feet would trample disorderly
لكن له سن الكمال فواضلاً
حتى على حد الظبى انعامها
But his perfection has branches, generosity radiating
Even upon wild deer gently caressing stately
ولعت أياديه باقراء السيو
ف دماً وذاك على الكرام ذمامها
His hands yearn for the swords to blood spill
That being the crest of honor for souls so knightly
حقاً إذا قرمت إلى لجم العدا
أن لا يظل مؤخراً إكرامها
Rightfully, when he opposed the enemies
None remained augmented or treated kindly
ومطهمات كالرياح قواصف
قحل إلى دهم الحروب هيامها
His raging battle-thirsty steeds
Rode to war, their bodies armored mightily
جرد مكتبة الصدور عوابس
ألفت مقارعة الحديد عظامها
Drew from hearts their ferocity, so accustomed to
Warring, clashing with iron violently
صامت مرابطة الجهاد ببابه
لله ظل جهادها وصيامها
His patient holy warriors stand guard at his door
To God, their struggle and fast offered sincerely
ولطالما صلت على لباتها
زمر الحديد سهامها وحسامها
How often ranks of iron, swords and spears
Thirsty to plunge into perils fiercely
تصبو إلى الأهوال صبوة عاشق
عجباً بشمطاء الحروب غرامها
Yearning for horrors like passionate lovers
Infatuated with war's ardors fervently
أزدية بدرية وهبية
لورود ماء النهروان أوامها
Courageous, early Muslims their watering place
Euphrates' stream their animals drank thirstily
تنفض بالأجال كالشهب الثوا
قب دارعات بالدما أجسامها
Shedding their armors with Time's arrows
Piercing with blood their bodies readily
علمت مقارعة الكماة وأحرزت
علم المعارك جيداً إفهامها
They learned to battle spears and mastered
War's knowledge completely and orderly
جرداء غضبى لا يقر قرارها
أو يستباح من العداة حرامها
Bare and wrathful, their stance does not settle
Nor do they allow enemies to breach sanctity
يسطيرها لمع النجوم تخاله
لمع الصوارم حين ثار قتامها
The glittering stars align with their march
Their swords' light flashed keenly
ثبتت لها في كل دهر خطة
رسمته في جبهاته أيامها
They were created mounted on the neck of every obstruction
Bare and swimming, its reins foam swelling highly
عاشت ملوك بني الامام تعلها
بدم الكماة فما يحل فطامها
They deserted wives and homes desiring
The battle where passions seethe and surge fiercely
كانوا البدور فكن أفلاكاً لهم
والعدل منهم في العباد لجامها
Shunning tents' shade for the wide open terrain
Instead of gardens, their sleeves opened widely
أبلت فوفاها الذمام وهكذا
ترعى الذمام من الملوك كرامها
Greatest of masters, their cool pavilioned abode
Fragrant with generosity, tents positioned stately
ولكم وفي عهداً وراعى حرمة
وأزاح معضلة يهول ظلامها
The milestones of their steps, necklaces styled
Upon Time's chest arranged orderly
وأتاح فاضلة وأغنى مقتراً
وأمر نفساً شأنها إعدامها
Their ambition raised above all worldly wants
Caring not for its treasures or goods transient
ولكم تجاوز عن جديدة مذنب
لولا تجاوزه لحل آثامها
Protectors of the refugee's rights, and rights of those
Bound to them, rights kept safe, secure and sacred wholly
ملك جبلته على الحلم انطوت
إن الملوك تزينها أحلامها
Thowaini you made eternal, triumphs persisting
The stars set out his course, his reign timely
يؤتى بأثقال الجبال جرائماً
فيزول بالعفو العظيم لزامها
Then his son came, the magnificent king, honorable principles
Shone, his esteem and purpose made greater
وبتلك يمتلك الرقاب مليكها
وبتلك يقتاد الصعاب همامها
Master, light of the nation Al-Ghara
Its life spirit, pillar standing upright staunchly
وقضية المجد الأثيل منوطة
بجمال مصطنعاته أحكامها
Praised is he whose dominion if opposed
By mountains' peaks would shatter them violently
أصل لجامعة الكمال كماله
كالشمس روح للوجود قيامها
Gift-giver of all sought, grantor
Severing every mighty and massive enemy
ما زال يهتف بالمعالي همه
حتى تضاعف في يديه زمامها
His virtues shine by his grandeur's light
By the pen of highness and perfection neatly
قطب لعمر الجد عنه تضاءلت
همم القروم وعصرت أوهامها
Too vast to encompass is his praise
Eloquence falls short, words weak and poor shabbily
أو ما ترى سر الخلافة أشرقت
بظهوره وتباشرت أعلامها
O king, I hope for your kindness, deem great
The best refuge, your refuge most sacred and holy
واهتز منبرها وهلل عرشها
وتهللت فرحاً به أيامها
Many times have I sought refuge in your abode
A slave who erred, sins burden him heavily
وأغاث اسلام البسيطة بعد أن
كادت يودع أهلها اسلامها
Your slave at your door sought refuge
Taking shelter in your patience mountains lofty
وأمد ناموس الشرائع بالتي
يرضي الإله من الجهاد قيامها
Clinging to ropes of your pardon, returning
No covenant have I kept strongly
ملك تشرفت البسيطة باسمه
وبذاته وصفاته حكامها
My master, the torrent has overflowed its shores
And over the hunted prey gloom spreads darkly
ملك يجير على الزمان طريده
حتى الحوادث في حماه مضامها
My master, the hide is filled with affliction
Till round the innocent, belts tightened measly
غوث البلاد عظيمة بركاته
نفاح كل جليلة قسامها
My master, the woes of time attacked
Its enemy took delight, aimed precisely
وافته سلطنة الوجود فزانها
ولقد رعاها كفؤها وامامها
My master, fate cast me to fates
With sorrow-scorched breasts, sighing lonely
من معشر قادوا الزمان بأنفس
ترياق كل عظيمة وسمامها
My master, I am not equal to your elite guards
But is that not required for all souls wholly?
بلغوا السماء علا فما جرجيسها
إلا استقاد لهم ولا بهرامها
My master, if you punish, I am not wronged
My soul sinned, so it deserves the darkness only
أسد عرينهم اللدان السمهر
ية والسوابغ محكماً إلحامها
My master, if you judge justly that's the judge's right
Based on truth, on justice rightly and boldly
كغيول محنية تصفقها الصبا
زرق كأثواب السماء جمامها
My master, if my sins are plenty
Your forbearance is vaster, your mercy holy
خلقوا على صهوات كل طمرة
جرداء سابحة يعوم زمامها
My master, your patience and power dictate
No ruin should befall those disobedient or lowly
هجروا الأسرة والدساكر رغبة
عنها لمعركة يموج لهامها
My master, if reasons are blocked, you stop
For you were not created harsh or ghastly
وتفيؤا ظلل القواضب والقنا
عوض الرياض تفتحت أكمامها
My master, if excuse is absent one step
Many an arrow of archer veers blindly
أعظم باملاك باردية المج
رة طنبت بالمكرمات خيامها
My master, if you rebuild collapsed walls
On the ruined your glory depends closely
نبر الخطوب مقاعس آثارهم
عقد على جيد الزمان نظامها
My master, if you heal the sick alike
Sublime is your mildness curing frailty and illness
شمخت عن الدنيا منازعهم فما
تصبيهم لذاتها وحطامها
My master, if you care for all souls
Your supreme revered glory is aim and focus
ذمر حقوق نزيلهم والمستعي
ذ بهم حقوق لا يضاع ذمامها
These my hopes, their course
Incomplete, until fulfilled by you wholly
أبقى ثويني في الوجود مفاخراً
يجلي النجوم مسيرها ودوامها
Does your compassionate glance not dispel woes?
Or rainfall revive barren land lonely?
فأتى ابنه الملك العظيم بخطة ال
شرف التي جلت وعز مرامها
Time has accused and rejected me
Easily absolved if you approve gladly
السيد السلطان نور الملة ال
غرا وروح حياتها وقوامها
Misfortunes have stigmatized and outcast me
Where is mercy to the despairing and frail kindly?
حمد الذي سطواته لو عارضت
شم الجبال لنسفت اجرامها
Where are virtues, compassion, qualities all-enveloping
The wretched and noble souls gently?
معطاء كل رغيبة وهابها
بتار كل عظيمة صمصامها
By God, I'm not lacking or deprived
But fates over luck prevail forcefully
رسمت مناقبه بنور جلاله
بيد العلا وكماله أقلامها
If you show me kindness and mercy
I'm most worthy while you are protector supreme
وتقيل الحمد الذي عن حصره
لسن المدائح في القيود كلامها
You are most generous to accept my return
Not refused your pardon's rain pools holy
يا أيها الملك الذي أرجو عوا
طفه وأعظم منيتي إلمامها
You are most merciful to relieve my distress
Burning, while calamities engulf me densely
كم أم بابك عائذ بجلالة
خير المعاذ معاذها ومقامها
I call onto you in this terrible plight
For help is called unto one mighty and lordly
عبد ببابك لم يغادر زلة
إلا وقد علقت به آثامها
May times continue to spread your virtues
Judgment of you time's system and order solely
عبد ببابك مستجير عائذ
بجبال حلمك نفسه استعصامها
With fate your obedient slave, bliss eternal
And your age never ends, seals not scarcely
مستمسك بحبال عفوك آئباً
إن ليس ينقض في يدي إبرامها
مولاي إن السيل قد بلغ الزبى
وأتى على نفس الطريد زؤامها
مولاي قد حلم الأديم من البلا
حتى على الطيبين ضاق حزامها
مولاي أشكلة الزمان قد انقضت
ولماسه الأعداء جف رؤامها
مولاي إن الدهر أوردني موا
رد مالها صدر يؤد عرامها
مولاي لست على صدودك مقرناً
أو ليس ذاك على النفوس حمامها
مولاي أن تأخذ فلست بظالم
نفسي جنت فجناؤها ظلامها
مولاي أن تعدل فعدل حاكم
لك حجة حق على قيامها
مولاي أن تكن الذنوب عظيمة
فمقام حلمك دونه أعظامها
مولاي حلمك واقتدارك موجب
أن لا يبوء على العصاة غرامها
مولاي إن وصل الذرائع قضبت
فذراك لم يخلق لدى ذمامها
مولاي إن غب المعذر خطوة
فلرب رامية تطيش سهامها
مولاي إن رثت عهود مضجع
فعلى المرزء مجده إبرامها
مولاي إن ترد الأمور كفاءها
فعظيم حلمك طبها وسقامها
مولاي أن ترم الشؤون كفيلها
فجلالك الأعلى العزيز مرامها
مولاي تلك مطامعي وجهتها
منقوصة وعلى نداك تمامها
هل نظرة تذر الخطوب بلاقعا
أو مطرة يحيي الرميم غمامها
خصمتني الأيام أن أقصيتني
سهل على إذا رضيت خصامها
وصمتني النكبات أن ألقيتني
أين الحلوم الراسيات أكامها
أين الفواضل والمراحم والصفا
ت الشاملات البائسين كرامها
واللّه ما نقصت ولا عريت ول
كن الأمور على الحظوظ قوامها
فلئن عطفت عليَّ عطفة رحمة
فأنا الحري بها وأنت همامها
ولأنت أكرم أن تذود انابتي
عن حوض عفوك كالشواظ أوامها
لأنت أرحم أن ترد ضرورتي
حسرى وقد كربت يحم حمامها
أدعوك للكرب العظيم وإنما
يدعى لكل عظيمة قوامها
لا زالت الأيام تنشر فضلكم
وقف عليكم نرها ونظامها
والدهر عبداً والنعيم مخلداً
وأطوم عمرك لا يفض ختامها
