1. أحبَّتنا ما البعد شيئاً نُطيقه

    ولكنه من جملة الحكم في الأَزَلْ

    Our loved ones, we cannot bear the distance,

    Though it is part of the eternal decree.

  2. أحبتنا البابنا تستطيرها

    إليكم علاقات الصفاء ولا تسل

    Our loved ones, though you are far,

    We hold fast to our bonds of purity, do not let them slip.

  3. بنا ظمأ اللقيا ونار من الأسى

    ولولا التأسي ذابَ من حرها الجبل

    We thirst for meeting you, and burn with sorrow,

    Were it not for endurance, the mountains would melt from its heat.

  4. مواردكم منا وموردكم ثوى

    لديكم وليس الظامئين على أمل

    You are our destination, and our resting place,

    While we remain thirsty, clinging to hope.

  5. فنزوي من الذكرى ولا ينفع الصدا

    إلا هي أذكى في القلوب من الشُعَل

    So we find solace in memories, though they do not avail,

    Except to kindle our hearts more than flames.

  6. تثير تباريح الجوى غصص النَوى

    وتُنكئها الذكرى إذا جرحها اندمل

    They stir the wounds of longing and grief,

    And memories reopen them when they start to heal.

  7. عسى نسمات الروَح من لطف رَبّنا

    تهب بجمع الشمل من بعدها انفصل

    May the gentle breezes of our Lord’s mercy

    Bring about the gathering of those parted.

  8. وَعَلّ رياض الأنس يخضر سيمها

    بماطرة من رحمة الله تنهمل

    And may the gardens of fellowship bloom,

    Watered by rains of God’s compassion.

  9. فتروي العطاش الهيم بعد هيامها

    ويدنو إليها الماء للنهل والعَلل

    To quench the thirst of the enamored, after their pining,

    And bring water near to them, for drinking and healing.

  10. أحبتنا لا يملك المرء أمره

    ولا يدفع المقدار ضرب من الحِيَل

    Our loved ones, none can control their fate,

    Nor evade destiny through any trickery.

  11. نريد قراراً واغتباطاً وألفةً

    وذلك شان لا يضاف إلى العِلل

    We want stability, joy, and friendship,

    But that is not up to our devices.

  12. لقد دبر الرحمن أمر عباده

    فدع عنك حتى أو متى أو عسى وَهَل

    The Merciful has ordained the affairs of His servants,

    So cease your “if only” or “when” or “perhaps”.

  13. يدبر ما يختار وهي سياسةٌ

    وإن ضاق في رأي العيون بها الكَبَلْ

    He plans as He wills, and this is wisdom,

    Though to eyes it seems narrow and constricted.

  14. عَلَينا الرضى فيما يجئ به القضا

    وأهلاً بما نحسو من الصاب والعَسَل

    Ours is to accept what He decrees,

    And welcome the sweet and the bitter.
