1. My God, upon sincerity—O One—has folded itself

my certainty; so purify me, and make my inmost intent sincere.

  2. My God, among the individual beings of existence, unveiled stand

their realities, from the casket of divine Oneness.

  3. And amid the multiplicity of entities, one Essence became one,

appearing through their forms and revealing itself.

  4. Your attributes and the Names, in whatever locus of manifestation,

have all shot through the whole from the bow of Unity.

  5. And the designation of one Name rather than another in a manifestation

confirms the truth of eternal Unity.

  6. For in every Name is a power of Oneness,

pertaining to an act, an attribute, or the Essence of Reality.

  7. My God, affirming divine unity is no thing that I add

to the truth of reality itself, out of my own selfhood.

  8. If reality itself is true in its own essence,

independent of affirmation by any kind of affirmer,

  9. then my affirmation of Your unity is nothing but this: You guided me,

and I beheld the negation of imperfection and duality.

  10. So make me still firmer in that to which You guided me,

and teach me what divine Oneness necessarily requires.

  11. Let me taste, from divine unity, the cup of one divinely enabled,

through which, in the Presence of Nearness, my intoxication may endure.
