عض تفاح وجنتي الحبيب
O mufti of the age, what judgment falls on one madly in love

فانثنى مغضباً وقال حرام
عض تفاحنا بعين الرقيب
He turned away in anger and said, “Forbidden—
to bite our apples under the watcher’s eye!”
