    blow upon my affliction with relief and mercy.

  2. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name, arriving before all else,

    come in time to save me by effacing my sin.

  3. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name—their tenderness

    is near, in measure with suffering and tribulation.

  4. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name encompass me—

    their subtle graces—with righteous deeds and with that which...

  5. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name be close at hand,

    hastening to dispel my worry and anguish.

  6. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name sustain me

    with bounty, forgiveness, gentleness, and protection.

  7. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name arrive in succession

    with the fairest favor, to untie my knot.

  8. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name come to my aid

    in a plight that has defeated my resourcefulness and strength.

  9. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name grant me

    such ample generosity as sweeps away my poverty and hardship.

  10. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name rise to uphold me

    when my men and my family have failed to rise for me.

  11. May the breaths of the Merciful’s name succor me—

    for, by God, they have never proved too narrow for any created soul.
