أتى عبدك الخطاء جهلاً وغرة

من الذنب يا تواب كل عظيمة

Your erring servant came in ignorance and folly

With major sin, O Forgiver of every enormity

وتوبك بالتيسير للتوب شافعي

بأنك يا تواب قبال توبتي

And Your forgiveness in facilitating repentance intercedes for me

That You, O Forgiver, accept my repentance

تتوب بتوفيق المتاب لمن عصى

ليخرج من خذلانه في الخطيئة

You forgive with enabling the penitent one who disobeyed

To emerge from his disgrace in sin

وتوبك بالاحسان للعبد مطلقاً

جميل اقتدار وامتنان الوهة

And Your forgiveness is absolute benevolence to the servant

Beautiful omnipotence and favor of divinity

تجاوزت يا تواب طوري ولم أدع

سوى الشرك ذنباً لم تقارفه خيرتي

You have pardoned, O Forgiver, my misconduct, though I have not invoked

Anything but polytheism, a sin my virtue did not perpetrate

فلم تقطع الاحسان والكرم الذي

يليق بمجد اللّه من كل جهة

So You did not cease benevolence and generosity

That befits the glory of God in every way

ولم تغلق الأسباب دوني تأنياً

ولطفاً وتوفيقاً لتحقيق توبتي

Nor close off means before me, gently

And kindly and enabling the realization of my repentance

وفي كل هذا لا أزائل سوءة

ولا أتقي ما فيه ويلي وشقوتي

And in all this, I do not cease from evil

Nor avoid that which spells my doom and misery

وذاك على علمي بأني راجع

إلى كبرياء لا تضيق بعثرتي

And that is with my knowledge that I will return

To arrogance that does not constrain my prodigality

إلى الويل يا تواب إن فاتني الرضا

وتوبك يا تواب يا رب عصمتي

To ruin, O Forgiver, if Your pleasure escapes me

And Your forgiveness, O Lord, is my safeguard

الهي تداركني بتثبيت توبة

نصوح وكون حلية التوب حليتي

My God, save me by making repentance sincere

And make the adornment of repentance my adornment
