بصرت بكل الكائنات احاطة

بغير انطباع يا بصير ومقلة

I saw all beings with encompassing vision

Without any impression, O All-Seeing, All-Knowing One

بصرت بما لم يبصر الخلق كلهم

به مطلقاً للذات لا بوسيطة

I saw what no other creation has seen

In it absolutely, not through mediation

بصرت البصير الحق بالذات لا بما

يقولون من حل الصفات القديمة

I saw the True Seer by His Essence, not by what

They say regarding the attributes from eternity

وما الحق إلا أن ذاتك مدرك

بصير بلا استئثار باء استعانة

And the Truth is none but Your Essence is perceived

All-Seeing without monopolizing the means of aid

بصرت بحالي جهرها وخفيها

ومرمي شؤوني وافتقار أنيتي

I saw my own state, its apparent and hidden

And the affairs I have cast away and my poverty of being

وكيف عنائي في المواطن كلها

وظلمة قلبي وانطماس بصيرتي

And how burdened I am in all stations

And the darkness of my heart and blindness of my inner sight

الهي بصرني بنفسي وقدرها

فمطلق خسراني بجهلي برتبتي

O God, make me see myself and my worth

For I have utterly lost myself in ignorance of my rank

الهي بما أبصرته من نقائصي

وسوء اختياري أنت تستر خلتي

O God, by what I have seen of my shortcomings

And my poor choices, You conceal my faults

وأين مفري واختفائي وأنت يا

بصير محيط الكل والشاهدية

And where can I flee and hide when You, O

All-Encompassing, All-Witnessing One, are ever present?

الهي محجوب الكثائف موثق

بانشوطة من جهله وأخية

O God, I am veiled by dense coverings

Shackled by my ignorance and blindness

وفي بصر الرحمن بالحق نافذ

فما عزبت يا رب عنك بليتي

Yet in seeing the True by the All-Merciful lies escape

No misery of mine is hidden from You, my Lord
