1. To the generosity and bounty of God, the All-Generous,

    I direct my hopes and send forth my longing.

  2. At the door of the Generous, the Most Generous, the Bestower of honor, who

    possesses boundless generosity, I have laid down my plea;

  3. at the door of One noble in essence, in dignity and exalted rank,

    noble in His pure and immaculate attributes;

  4. at the door of One generous in forgiving every sinner;

    at the door of One whose generosity precedes all intercession;

  5. at the door of the Generous, whose benefit and bounty are unbounded;

    at the door of the Generous, who initiates the giving;

  6. at the door of the Generous, who pours forth grace and gifts abundantly,

    without His servant's asking and without reproach;

  7. at the door of One so generous that He never drives His disobedient servant to despair;

    at the door of One so generous that He does not begrudge a blessing;

  8. at the door of One so generous that He never abandons a supplicant,

    nor leaves one who seeks refuge—glory be to Him—to be lost;

  9. at the door of One generous in action, though He has no need;

    at the door of One generous, who remedies every want.

  10. I stand at Your door, O You whose door is the hope-seeker's destination,

    though my conduct between You and me has been shameful.

  11. So honor my standing here as befits You,

    for You, O Generous One, are not one to disappoint me.
