1. My God, I have surrendered my face as a witness

To Your face, believing in the majesty of divinity.

  2. My God, I bear witness to what You witness,

With the testimony of angels and the One who encompasses the worlds.

  3. My God, the traces offer the eye a witness,

And what follows from existence points to the Creator.

  4. My God, the sovereignty of divinity is manifest

Over the worshipper’s longing for the Merciful.

  5. My God, the sovereignty of divinity takes hold

Of the worshipper by his waist as he is captive in humility.

  6. My God, my reverence for divinity comes first,

Yet it remains preceded by an earlier oneness.

  7. My God, keep me firm in what You have guided me to

And granted me from the devotion of my nature.

  8. My God, whoever turns to You with longing like mine,

    Revelation concerning divinity reaches him.

  9. My God, mercy belongs to divinity,

As do forbearance and a majesty beyond the praise I can offer.

  10. My God, it belongs to divinity that You see

My humility, awe, and fear before Your face.

  11. My God, through knowing that I have no god

But You, I hope for deliverance and nearness.
