1. My God, this is a station of fear and hope.

    This is the place of one who seeks refuge and stands firm.

  2. My God, You did not place me in the position of prayer

    to be cast away in despair, hopelessness, and disappointment.

  3. My God, those who call on You do not suffer for calling,

    nor has a humble supplicant returned deprived.

  4. My God, were it not for an eternal glance

    toward me, You would not have raised me to make my plea.

  5. My God, my herald of an answer is a prayer

    that I recite while God is present with me.

  6. My God, no barrier keeps my prayer from You;

    my will is resolved and my determination firm.

  7. My God, the doors of prayer are open to whoever calls;

    hear my prayer and my cry.

  8. You see all things, Lord, yet are not seen;

    the station of divinity is at the highest vantage.

  9. You are the One to whom all ends return; through You is strength,

    and from You comes hope of warding off every hardship.

  10. My God, I abandoned the means of gaining Your pleasure

    through Satan's enticement and my audacious soul.

  11. Nothing remains to me but devotion and hope

    in my Lord as a bond and a means of approach.

  12. Divine generosity is enough to connect me to You,

    though my deeds and conduct have been ugly.

  13. I have no means of gaining what I seek from You

    except my very lack of means.

  14. My highest station and purest act,

    along with repentance, is entrusting my plight to You.

  15. Your decree runs as it wills if I entrust matters to You,

    and if I do not, it still follows Your will.

  16. Yet entrusting my affairs is a way

    toward You and a fulfillment of my servanthood.

  17. This is a necessary station of servanthood,

    upheld before the Truth in every state.

  18. My God, my pursuit of what You dislike

    is as nothing beside God's pardon.

  19. Even my approach to good is a power You bring

    to me; otherwise, where are my power and strength?

  20. My obedience confers no favor upon You;

    to Your own essence, my Lord, belong all glory and bounty.

  21. Whatever rises from me of good words and righteous deeds

    has been raised by the Lord's grace from my lowliness.

  22. When You grant a servant success, You guide him

    to wholesome words and deeds.

  23. In generosity, You enable righteous acts

    and reward them with blessed recompense.

  24. You reveal Your generosity in every sign

    and prepare the way to nearness in every direction.

  25. You call to Your pleasure while all creation hears,

    and enlighten the people of truth with knowledge.

  26. You make Yourself known through goodness in what You ordained;

    thus Your commands, O God, pour forth blessing.

  27. I stretched out my hand, poverty filling its very skin,

    toward the hand of the One whose gifts are immensely generous.

  28. I sent my hopes as humble cries

    to His door, and He sees my arrival.

  29. My God, my need of God has grown intense,

    and I have set my search toward Your known generosity.

  30. My God, my needs are easy for You,

    though they overwhelm my meager power.

  31. My God, among my needs is repentance

    granted to me, and forgiveness and pardon for my lapse.

  32. Greatest of them is Your pleasure with me in a garden

    where I may dwell beside the Seal of the Messengers.

  33. Nothing I seek from You, my Lord,

    conflicts, O my Help, with divine generosity.

  34. Nor does a single particle of my rescue from Your punishment

    conflict with the wisdom of the One.

  35. Nor would my punishment diminish Your riches by a particle,

    my God, even were I punished in every way.

  36. What would the Merciful One, whose way is forbearance, gain

    by punishing a servant after true repentance?

  37. My God, if remorse for disobedience

    is repentance, then I regret my sin:

  38. the remorse of a servant seeking his Lord's face

    with the repentance of one who sees clearly after heedlessness;

  39. the remorse of one in need, the remorse of one who fears God,

    the remorse of one deceived by a lowly world;

  40. the remorse of one who fears none but his Lord

    and hopes only for the gifts of His lordship;

  41. the remorse of a servant who has left the whole world

    for You and cares neither for abundance nor scarcity;

  42. the remorse of a servant whom his sins have driven away.

    Your perfection, O my Help, is the refuge of the outcast.

  43. The remorse of a servant shamed by his faults:

    how grievous what I have done, and how deep my shame!

  44. The remorse of a servant whose heart fear has burned,

    with a soul drawn toward the kindness of hope.

  45. Longing and the taste of nearness drove me to You, my Lord,

    and I laid my sin before the might of Your will.

  46. I presented my soul, exhausted by its sins,

    for You to wash it with eternal mercy.

  47. I presented my soul, beset by many afflictions,

    for You to treat me gently in grievous calamities.

  48. After presenting it, I hope for sufficiency

    through my Lord and for the best nearness to Him.

  49. I hope from You for a patient person's triumph,

    the rescue of one in distress, and the completion of blessing.

  50. I hope from You to attain my desire

    through sincere hope and my persistent prayer.

  51. I hope, since I have made You my aim,

    that You will ward harm from my human self.

  52. My God, by God's exalted standing I ask You for Your pleasure,

    and I ask You, O God, for sincere love,

  53. victory in the everlasting abode, my Master, and escape

    from the Fire among the saved of the best community;

  54. blessing, faith, and sincere certainty,

    justice, excellence, and light within;

  55. a good ending, Lord, and contentment,

    the removal of misery from me and an easy death.

  56. I ask You, O God, for ample means,

    and I ask You, O God, for a good life.

  57. I ask You, O God, to dispel my ignorance,

    enlighten my mind, and help me follow the sacred law.

  58. I ask You, O God, for victory and strength

    against Your oppressive foe despite my weakness.

  59. I ask You, O God, for gratitude that brings

    more of Your blessings in both abodes.

  60. I ask You, O God, for patience in affliction,

    for my soul is easily distressed and my resolve is weak.

  61. So grant me, O God, what I have asked,

    and what my tongue and prayer failed to express.

  62. Through Your most beautiful names I draw near, my Lord,

    to You, glorifying You in my cries and devotion.

  63. I made their recitation my natural companion,

    for Your sake, my Lord, in revelation after solitude.

  64. By Your right, rain upon me the clouds of their secret,

    with the perfection and strength allotted to each.

  65. Through them, grant me the fullest of every good,

    my God, in this world and the next.

  66. My God, You opened the way to me and established me

    in Your love; so seal my life with love.
