1. O Creator of the mighty Throne, O Possessor of Majesty,

    Forgive me, O Generous One, and be gentle with my plight.

  2. For You know what lies hidden;

    make it easy for me

  3. to go and visit the Chosen One

    before death,

  4. and behold the station of the people of purity—

    the ten well-pleasing ones.

  5. Between Zamzam and the Ḥaṭīm, we shall proclaim my plea.

    Forgive me, O Generous One, and be gentle with my plight.

  6. And when we reach the station

    of the most blessed Full Moon,

  7. we shall call out from the Gate of Peace:

    “O radiant-cheeked one,

  8. your servant has come, honoring the sacred covenant,

    from the farthest reaches of remoteness.

  9. Shield me from the fire of Hell, O Possessor of exalted glory.”

    Forgive me, O Generous One, and be gentle with my plight.

  10. I have drowned in the sea of sins,

    O best of guides;

  11. escape will be of no avail

    on the Day of Calling.

  12. Guide me to repentance, that we may repent—

    that is my desire.

  13. O Possessor of sublimity, Your bounty embraces all; accept my plea.

    Forgive me, O Generous One, and be gentle with my plight.

  14. With glad approval, we extol aloud

    the Companions:

  15. Abū Bakr, ʿAlī, and ʿUmar,

    men of awe-inspiring dignity;

  16. ʿUthmān—in his name we take pride—

    together with the Prophet’s kin.

  17. A shameful deed has indeed led me toward the impossible.

    Forgive me, O Generous One, and be gentle with my plight.

  18. O Lord, I implore You by al-Ṣafā

    and the Black Stone:

  19. Gather me among the people of fidelity,

    near Muḥammad.

  20. Through them we seek refuge, while I plead for compassion,

    at every gathering.

  21. Make my abode in bliss, that we may attain my hopes.

    Forgive me, O Generous One, and be gentle with my plight.

  22. My repose and my desire—

    the Master of all creation—

  23. is living, dwelling in my heart

    amid all attachments.

  24. He is the intercessor for my lapse

    when straits close in.

  25. O You who know all things, my ideal is directed toward You.

    Forgive me, O Generous One, and be gentle with my plight.
