    That perhaps we may know,

  8. So that we may awaken, O dervishes, from my intoxication.

    Pluck the lute’s strings,

  9. And carry me atop the trellis of my vine—

    A lover, lost.

  10. And place some of its water toward my qibla,

    And press the grape cluster.

  11. And make its leaves a shroud for me;

    Its water is my purification.

  12. Above, or from below, or on our right—

    Dig my grave.

    And my secret became hidden.
