عليه أنكرني من كان يعرفُني

حتى بقيتُ بلا أهلٍ ولا وطَنِ

حتى بقيتُ بلا أهلٍ ولا وطَنِ

For his sake, those who once knew me disowned me,

until I was left with neither family nor homeland.
