إنّي إذا ما ذكرتُ ربّ

يهتزُّ شوقي إلى لقاهُ

When I remember my Lord

My longing for Him stirs within me

طلبت حياتي وضاءَ قلبي

بذِكرِ ربّي جلّ ثناهُ

I sought the light of my life and heart

In remembering my glorious Lord

ما ذاقَ طعم الغرام إلّا

من عرفَ الوصلَ أو دراهُ

None has tasted the flavor of love

Except those who know union or its pain

يا قوزَ قوم باللَه فزوا

فلم يروا في الورى سواه

O people of piety, hasten towards Allah

For none but He is seen in existence

قرّبهُم منهُ فاجتباهم

فنزّهوا الفِكر في عُلاهُ

He brought them near and chose them

So they purified thought in His sublimity

ليسَ لهم للسوى التفاتٌ

كيفَ وقد شاهدوا سناهُ

They pay the world no heed

Having witnessed His beauty

أزالَ حُجبَ الغِطاء عنهُم

فاستنشقوا نفحةَ هواهُ

He lifted the veils from them

And they inhaled the breeze of His love

تجلّى بالنور والبهاء

لهُم فقالوا يا هو يا هو

He revealed Himself in light and splendor

So they exclaimed, "O He, O He!"

فقال إنّي لكُم محبٌّ

ربٌّ كريمٌ نعمَ الإلهُ

He said, "I am your loving Lord

The Bountiful, the Best of Gods

ألملكُ ملكي والأمرُ أمري

أنتُم عيدي والجاهُ جاهُ

Mine is the kingdom and command

You are My feast and glory is My glory

ألجودُ جودي والفضل فضلي

أنا الذي يرتَجى عطاهُ

The generosity is My generosity, the grace My grace

I am the One hoped for, the Giver

أقبلُ من تابَ من عبادي

ولا أُبالي بما جناهُ

I accept those who repent among My servants

And I disregard their sins

ألحبُّ حبي والقرب قربي

والعزُّ عزي فادخل حماهُ

Love is My love, nearness is My nearness

Honor is My honor, so enter My sanctuary

قلبكَ متع بكأس شربي

طرفكَ نزه بما تراهُ

Gladden your heart with a drink from My cup

Delight your eyes with what you behold

وانظر به نظرَة اعتبار

في أرضِ مولاكَ أو سماهُ

And reflect with wisdom's eye

On the land of your Lord or His heavens
