1. Say “God,” and leave existence and all it contains,

if you seek to attain perfection.

  2. For all apart from God—if you realize its truth—

is nonexistence, in detail and in sum.

  3. Know that you and all the worlds,

were it not for Him, are being effaced and fading away.

  4. Whatever has no existence in itself, from itself—

without Him, its existence is sheer impossibility.

  5. Thus the knowers were annihilated and did not witness

anything except the Supremely Great, the Most Exalted.

  6. They saw all besides Him as, in truth, perishing

in the present, the past, and the future.

  7. So perceive with your mind, or look with your eye: do you see

anything except an act among acts?

  8. Look upon existence in its heights and its depths

with a gaze confirmed by reasoned proof.

  9. You will find everything pointing toward His majesty

in the language of its state or the language of speech.

  10. He sustains the things, from the heights to

the depths, and brings them into being without a model.
