In the palace of splendor is a full moon
Of beauty that grieves the heart when it sets
Passion for the beloved blows from it
A fragrant breeze when the tryst is delayed
It wears brocade, head-wraps, and armor
And a Yemeni headband, finely woven
And I saw the beloved bare a hand
That the lover saw only bloodied
