And a Bedouin woman roams in search of provisions,
darting from one land into another.
Come morning, she walks with a blunted saw,
measuring with it the floor of every valley.
In the air she spreads a mantle of fine shurb cloth,
its borders stippled with drops of ink.
Beneath it she wears a cloak of lādh silk,
with saffron-hued cowries upon its shoulders.
