قَد بُزِلَ الدَنُّ فَقومي اِنظُري
زِنجِيَّةً تَفتِلُ خُلخالا
The wine jar has been tapped—rise, then, and look:
a Zanj woman, twining an anklet.
وَأَسقِنيها وَاِشرَبي وَاِطرَبي
وَجَرِّري في الأَرضِ أَذيالا
Give me a drink of her; drink, and be merry;
and trail your skirts along the ground.
تَنَعَّمي ما اِسطَعتِ وَاِستَمتِعي
إِنَّ وَراءَ المَرءِ أَهوالا
Live in delight while you can, and take your pleasure:
for ahead of every mortal, terrors lie.
