أَحدَقَ لَيمونٌ بِأُترُجَّةٍ
كَأَنجُمٍ تُحدِقُ بِالبَدرِ
Lemons have ringed a citron,
like stars encircling the full moon—
مَخروطَةُ الأَجسادِ في فِضَّةٍ
مُلَبَّساتٍ قُمُصَ التِبرِ
their bodies finely shaped, set in silver,
clad in shirts of pure gold.
قَد شَدَّ مِن هاماتِها زِرُّها
يا عَجَبا مِن ذَلِكَ الزِرِّ
At their crowns, their button is fastened;
oh, what a wonder, that button!
إِشرَب عَلَيها وَتَمَتَّع بِها
فَإِنَّها مِن تُحَفِ الدَهرِ
Drink with this display and delight in it,
for it is one of Time’s rare treasures.
